We bought one even though I don’t trust Nissan transmissions. This one is the best I’ve used so far. Hope it holds up. Had a 2010 rally art. Never a problem. For 2023 model year the Mitsubishi PHEV is substantially upgraded with 40% increased power in both the front and rear motors and 40% increase in overall battery capacity as well for the plug-in hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander. 2.4 liter DOHC I4 has also been revamped to further expand the improvements Mitsubishi made for this do-everything crossover. Overall HP is now a stout 221hp and while I look forward to hearing the PHEV fuel economy ratings I’m pleased to inform you that 26.4 combined MPG was achieved by Edmunds on a mixed evaluation loop totaling about 100 miles. So 2023 ushers in a Japanese COMPACT, 3-ROW, PLUG-IN Hybrid (w/ EV mode) which is estimated to achieve 33 miles of all-electric range for the updated electric power train in the PHEV Outlander if one were to increase the EPA Rated range of the 2022 M.Y. My 2014 Altima's tranny went out at 78,500 miles, I did the Tranny Service at 60k miles like I typically like to do. Previous owner never did the service, why would he Nissan lies and says "Lifetime Fluid." Yeah right, lifetime of the warranty, and mine was out of the extended warranty by 11 months jerks. So this one has the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty standard, and I'll be doing the tranny service every 25 to 30k religiously like the "Car Wizard" says you need to do for these CVT's. But due to the crazy car market, the Altima got me $10,500 cash offer from the Dealership to purchase from me, the Tranny replacement with a Nissan Unit was $3800 so I still did pretty dang good only due to the price increases on used cars. One note, the Altima's tranny died on I-4 Driving to Orlando. Once it cooled down that beeeeetch limped me home on I-4 over 50 miles staying in the slow lane late at night! Held speed at 50mph for most of the trip home, but by the time I pulled into my yard she was struggling to do 40 which is why I did the trip at midnight. Knew the Tranny was toast from the videos I've watched on the Nissans, I just wanted to get into my 'Tow Home' range from my insurance company, never expected her to get me all the way home! I can't hate on the car too much due to Nissan's design flaws, she got me home after all.

The Outlander looks good, but I wish they would have put it on the Pathfinder platform. The Outlander should be a full midsize or full size SUV. The next generation Outlander Sport should be on the Rogue platform. Then the Eclipse Cross could go on the Rogue sport platform.

But isn’t that larger segment held by the Montero?

I bought a 22 in Dec of 21. Love it functional drove very good and stylish. Last Nov the radiator has to be replaced now parts of the suspension need replacing. So traded her in for something else. Not even 25,000 and having issues so wasn’t worth keeping. I hate I had to do it.

I hate Mitsubishi’s aside from the 90s ones I would most likely never get one however I’m very impressed with this If it had a 300+ hp option with cooled seats it would be my choice if I was looking in that Market

Another Great Review! I’m glad I’m not the only one who notices the weird shutter at higher rpm’s. I too thought it was the transmission. Bought mine back in May after seeing the Cosmic blue with grey leather on the lot for two weeks. Have been in love since. If you’re easy on it, Gas mileage does increase but overall, I think it’s lower in the mpg section. It’s a great vehicle!

Like the looks but with a JATCO CVT; I will pass just like Nissan. Easy to do since the nearest dealer is about 150 miles away and Hyunda, Kia, Subaru, Toyota, Honda, GMC, Chevy, Ford are about five minutes away.

It’s a good car so far other than the Engine, CVT and the rear legroom. Mitsubishi should either upsize the Outlander to match the size of Highlander and Pathfinder or launch a model that is the size of those aforementioned cars.

I have owned Mitsubishi products or been around them for many years and they have always been good, reliable vehicles. What worries me about the new Outlander is the fact its based on the Nissan power train and uses the Nissan CVT, which we all know have not been that great as far as long term reliability.

It is time for a change... it is time for the future to come today! Mitsubishi will take the world by storm putting an end to the big names like Mercedes and BMW. Germans beware because Japan is coming in hot in the form of Mitsubishi! This is going to be a very successful car!
