The appeal of this car, at least for me, is that it is way more attractive looking than a RAV4 and it's way more rare in the wild. Another thing is that the Venza's trims and packaging is way more simple, especially for 2023. Finding a RAV4 Hybrid without being gouged by a dealer is already hard enough; now try finding a RAV4 Hybrid specifically with (for example) a pano roof or rain sensing wipers. For 2023, the Venza Limited gets the advanced tech package standard, so if a Venza Limited shows up on a dealer lot, you KNOW you're getting all the features you want.

May just trade it in for a new 2023 Escape this spring if our local Toyota dealers don't cut the gouging.

Yes..this is the perfect car for people looking to replace their first or even second gen Lexus RXs (also was the older Toyota Harrier in some markets). I could also see this appealing to the people that previously bought the Toyota Avalon. Comfort-oriented buyers that are looking for good value, and aren't badge snobs that insist on having a Lexus/luxury brand. While cargo space is lacking in comparison to Rav4 and others, it has enough space for a lot of buyers. I disagree with Sofyan, and think the styling will age way better than the current Rav4 due to the Venza's simplicity and smooth lines. The Rav4 I always thought looked ok in its proportions, but it's trying too hard to look tough and slightly overstyled to my eyes.

If I had a family-spouse and a couple of kids still in school-this would not be the car for me simply because of the space constraints. Families have sports gear and luggage and all kinds of stuff they drive around with, depending on the day’s destination and agenda. This is not a practical vehicle for that SUV customer profile. But I’m 69, single, semi-retired, and this is perfect for my lifestyle. Plenty of room for a passenger or two plus some luggage for a road trip or just the usual grocery and other shopping. No need for speed or sporty maneuvering, and luxury features make it a wonderfully enjoyable ride. Retirement incomes often don’t support the extra expense of a Lexus or other luxury cars. Boomer generation singles and couples are active and adventurous and living long lives. I think this is the perfect niche SUV for us. 😊

Exactly! This is an "Almost Lexus" for less. And the styling is more timeless. To me, it bears a strong resemblence to the 2004-2009 Toyota Harrier/Lexus RX, and the styling will hold up over time compared to a RAV4 that will be severley out of touch at the next re-design.

I prefer the Venza's exterior lines over those of the RAV4 styling, which I view as "blocky" and more utilitarian. The interior seating is more comfortable in the Venza. We love our '21 Venza Limited in blueprint blue with the grey Softex interior. I really like the styling. It is reminiscent of a Jag/Lexus but it also is unique when looking at other Toyotas (Looking similar to the RX makes sense when you consider that the first 2 generations of the RX were rebadged Toyota Harriers.). Amazing gas mileage, averaging 38 mpg from day one. we bought it. Great power. Just did a trip from Vancouver BC to Laguna Beach and it was quiet, comfortable, drove well. It was much quieter than the RAV4 and at the time, it felt roomier and more affordable than the Lexus NX. Honestly, unless you're gunning it from light to light, it is quiet when driving. I do like the updated infotainment centre on the '23. I know people buy the NX for the Lexus name but honestly, the Venza is just as good and you will save a lot of money when you compare feature to feature. the beginning of the making of the lexus RX was indeed the same base as the toyota harrier in japan, even in terms of interior and exterior it was almost exactly the same because the harrier was JDM (right steering wheel) and the RX was for the American market (left steering wheel) but since 2015, toyota has decided that the harrier there is no longer a part with the lexus rx. The real Toyota Crown is Toyota's number 2 most premium car (especially when it was still adopting RHD only) after the Century and the Harrier is Toyota's most premium SUV after the Land Cruiser So it still makes sense that the two cars are like the Lexus cars rather than the Toyota itself, in the case of the Crown it's actually the Lexus GS's counterpart

Traded my 2015 RAV4 LTD, and the Venza is SO much quieter, better riding, and more powerful vs. the last gen RAV4, and the interior is much better quality. Obviously, the styling limits the cargo capacity a bit, but not that much. ALL the professional road reviews criticize the space, but the cargo space almost exactly matches that of my comp set at a better price --- Audi Q5, BMW X3, Acura RDX, Genesis GV70, and of course Lexus NX -- The cargo capacity of all these compact Lux Crossovers are similar, so Venza is not exactly deficient there. Toyota still reserved some sound insulation for the Lexus version, which is annoying , but still love my Venza for $10K+ less.

This Venza sits in the middle of RAV4 with faux leather and Lexus base trim with minor packages, in terms of pricing, size or finish. Here is in Canada, the price difference between RAV4 Hybrid XLE premium and NX 350h premium is about 16k (50k vs 66k), and Venza XLE is 58K ish. For people spending 8k more to get Venza, I would spend 8k more for NX premium. This is simply why the Venza doesn't sell here. Plus, a Venza resale value is only 2k-3k more than a RAV4, which the new car sticker price is 8k-10k cheaper. Making the Venza is worse buy in terms of depreciation, comparing to RAV4 or Lexus NX350h.

My husband got a ‘23 RAV4 Hybrid XSE (in Cavalry Blue) and I feel I got the nicer car for sure. He loves his RAV4; but, my Venza is just so premium. Quieter, smoother (although his smaller wheels make harsh bumps a bit smoother), and a few extra features that he wishes he had (power steering column, lock and close liftgate button, power-folding mirrors and head up display). The 1200-watt JBL sound system also blows the RAV4’s 800-watt JBL out of the freakin’ water. Overall it’s a fantastic car, and I’m happy I got it instead of paying out the ass for an NX.

They did tell me it was possible that it may come in before the end of summer because Toyota is ramping up their manufacturing a little. I won’t hold my breath. 😊 The dealership is in Wisconsin.

Sales number for this car for 2022 are probably low because they are made in Japan and shipped to the US. Whereas the RAV4 is made in America. People in 2022 were/are still on a waitlist for a Venza and are on it for 7 months to a year.

With the Venza being the same size as the RAV4, I don't think it's fair to regard this as a competitor in the midsize two-row segment as this vehicle is really a more upmarket compact entry like the Buick Envision, Jeep Cherokee, or the Mazda CX-50.

as a Venza owner, I am regularly concerned about this. however, on XLE and Limited you get a full-width third brake light; so, if you’re braking for a turn, people generally notice that. for lane changes and whatnot, I always just make sure there’s a gap before going. I’ve never been one to flip on my signal and wait for someone to let me over haha!

I test drove this car recently, it was a miracle that the dealer even got one, they are so hard to find. I loved it but unfortunately, base trim was around $33,000. Dealers final price? $44,000 They wouldn’t budge, manager said “ this will be gone in a day” I’ve only owned Toyotas but I think it’s time to move on to another brand. Their mark ups are outrageous!

Don't even bother trying to buy this car for most any Toyota right now unless you like being taken to the cleaners. I tried to test drive one last month..... Dealers right now are the king of the castle. Unless I wish already putting down a down payment before even seeing a car you wouldn't even let me test drive it. Agreed to the test drive I show up and said No this is already sold I can't let you in it here's this Corolla cross I want you to look at.... I'm like what the f*** dude. All the dealer add-ons protective film they say you're paying MSRP but you're paying an extra two grand for crap... Just don't buy a car right now unless you absolutely have to

the front is the same level of pretty as the lexus NX but the backside of the venza looks better than the lexus. I don't understand why ppl think this car is for empty nesters. The back is perfectly fine for my preteen son and we find the car so comfortable. I guess maybe cuz american kids are sweetums kids now, people feel they won't fit? The extra space in the RAV4 is irrelevant for most of us and I have never towed anything in my life and never will. The venza is so refined compared to the RAV4.

You need to remember the venza only comes in hybrid which is very hard get, it's been over a year now since I ordered my venza and I'm still waiting, so is the Lexus nx they have gasoline and hybrid so they can sell more.
