I have the 2022.5 version of this exact same car. White with black edition/Bowers and Wilkins. The difference being it's still on Sensus rather than the Google based system and I have tailpipes visible where the 2023 doesn't. Since I got it in late 2022 I was able to get the full 7500 tax credit despite it being 60K since then MSRP limits didn't go into effect until January 2023. Really lucked out and it's a fantastic car.

Putting aside the comments here mostly from fans that can't afford an S60, if Volvo wants to increase sales they need to go a little more upmarket and put a V8 in this thing. That's the only way they're going to tempt me. The powertrain at the moment is like a no-win situation. When the ICE comes on it sounds awful, and with the battery it's fine, until you realize the resale value in a few year's time. What a shame. Such a beautiful vehicle, ruined by junk science ideology...

It still places too much emphasis on gasoline for my taste. Many PHEVs feature a robust engine but come with a disproportionately small battery and motor(s) considering the price, leading to a lackluster electric vehicle experience. In my opinion, the perfect PHEV strikes a balance between electric and gas power, without compromising on either. I find the Chevrolet Volt, Honda Clarity PHEV, and Toyota Prius Prime to be excellent examples of PHEVs that achieve this balance admirably. It is unfortunate that most PHEVs tend to prioritize gasoline and come with steep price tags.

It is a shame Volvo's so uninspiring with their colour palate. When I ordered my V60 T8, there were like 7 colours available, but not the bursting blue metallic I'd have loved from the previous gen. 6 months later, they dropped all but 4 colours, and now they dropped all V60 recharges in general, but the Polestar trim.

I’d like to think so, maybe a plug in hybrid? When driving downhill, electric battery kicks in and recuperate the charge into the battery. It’s amazing watching how it works. It fluctuates between engine and electric depending on driving conditions so I’d think it’s worth it on the highway. Much better in the city, just driving around on electric only.
@ApurtureSci
Жыл бұрын
Probably not to the private buyer, they just cost too much and the real benefit is electric town driving. Here in the UK they are pretty much exclusively bought as company cars because the tax rates are so low. Currently driving a 530e and I love the electric driving around town but it runs out of charge so fast! I end up charging it using the engine whenever I'm on faster roads (so I've always got some charge for city driving) which drops the efficiency quite a bit. My 320i was about 20% more efficient on the motorway.

TL;DR Engine: Volvo B4204T 2.0 liter inline 4 Valvetrain: Double-overhead camshafts with continuous variable valve timing, 4 valves per cylinder Aspiration: Single turbocharger, intercooled, 13.1 PSI boost pressure Hybrid type: Plug-in, 18.1 kWh Lithium-Ion battery Engine power: 312 HP Engine torque: 295 LB-FT Motor power: 143 HP Motor torque: 228 LB-FT Combined power: 455 HP Combined torque: 523 LB-FT 0-60: 4.1 sec (Car and Driver testing) 0-100: 9.9 sec (Car and Driver testing) 1/4mi: 12.5 sec @ 112 MPH (Car and Driver testing) Actual top speed: 114 MPH De-limited top speed (Calculated using an estimated WHP of 400 and air density at sea level.): 192 MPH. Would likely be closer to 185 MPH as the engine cannot constantly provide 400 HP in every gear ratio. Transmission: Aisin AW AWF8F35 8-speed automatic Drivetrain: Front-biased AWD Soyfan’s exterior impressions: Looked great in 2019 when it came out. A good combination of aggressiveness and understatement and it still looks great. Should be offered in different colors. Soyfan’s size impressions: Somewhat large for the class, treading on mid-size sedan territory. Soyfan’s trunk impressions: Serviceable for the class. Soyfan’s interior impressions: Interior has good fit-and-finish, but it’s relatively unchanged from 2019, excluding revamped Google-based software in the infotainment system. Excellent optional Bowers & Wilkins 1500W stereo setup. Has a massive glovebox. Could use a red interior option. De facto 4 passenger seating, as the battery makes the middle seat prohibitively uncomfortable for passengers. Legroom is par-for-the-course. Headroom is fine. Soyfan’s driving impressions: Excellent off-the-line acceleration. Tested at 4.6 seconds to 60 in the wet with front wheel hop. Smoother and more responsive power delivery. Any turbo lag is non-existent. Second test at 4.35 seconds to 60, floored from a stop without brake-torquing, slightly uphill. Excellent throttle response, but soft suspension tuning. Sounds better than the previous T8. Not awful as a sports sedan, but nothing special either. Third test to 60 resulted in a 4.2 second 0-60 time, nearly matching the BMW M340i that he tested. Probably the best 4 cylinder sports sedan on the market. Seats are comfortable, but aggressively bolstered. Good visibility, front and rear. Extremely quiet. Tested at 9.77 seconds in pure EV mode.
