McLaren need to study Red Bull and strategy. But Zac Brown knows everything better than they do doesn’t he? Tyre choice especially in wet/dry races has to be the drivers call. But, McLaren gave options and gave their opinion. Red Bull just asked Max if hard was ok for him for the last stint. All McLaren wanted to do was copy Hamilton, himself totally useless at picking the right tyres at the right time. Funny how Wolff was giving interviews to everyone for the first time years. Norris isn’t as good as you claiming and I’ve said that for ages. Oscar is the better driver but is being held back because Brown favours Norris. Why else not double stack? Oscar will go looking elsewhere soon if they aren’t careful. He knows what he needs and will do what it takes to get there. Red Bull will drop Perez and keep to the contract by either putting him in the junior team but more like using Liam Lawson as he is having a private test this week at Silverstone in the current Red Bull car. No reason for that unless he is getting ready for a full time drive. Vasser has lost the plot signing Hamilton and I bet he was overruled by the chairman because there isn’t any sensible reason th sack their best driver.

Granted, they did horrid with Zhou, starting on the soft which degraded and grained because of course it would on a green track when the car is still on high fuel, so they had to stop for another slick, and then they stopped again for the inters while the track was still dry. So of course those inters also degraded really fast and by then he was already two pit stops down on everybody else who hadn't stopped at all, and he was on horrible tyres. And of course they didn't have any pace either later in the race, had to yield to blue flags all the time, and finished two and a half laps down. Oh dear Checo. I feel if Lando hadn't overshot his pit entry, Max would have won. That delay was just enough to put him behind Lewis on exit and after that they were trading similar lap times, so Lando in front would have held Lewis up enough for Max to close up on the pair of them. Also just want to say, as a McLaren fan I was banging my head against the arm of my chair after witnessing the decisions they were making. My jaw dropped in shock when Oscar went for another lap in the wet, I tried to convince myself that everything was fine, McLaren probably know something I don't...until I saw that Lando had more or less caught Oscar on the next lap. Then I was pulling my hair out at McLaren's message to Lando. "Lando we think mediums to defend Max or softs to challenge Lewis". What do you mean?! The mediums have always been the best tire! You just told Oscar that the mediums were the way to go! It frustrates me when I can make better calls than the entire pit wall when I'm just a guy sitting at home in his living room. Well I’d love to have been at Silverstone to witness the atmosphere for that, I’m betting it would’ve been the best of all my 49 races in 24 Countries and I can’t believe I missed it. I chose to go to Qatar then Abu Dhabi in December and go home to England for Birthday and Christmas with my son and for him to see his family. I could’ve got away from Melbournes winter and had some British sinner ( same as Melbourne winter as I know) but also could’ve gone to Silverstone. I’m gutted but I think he’s gonna win more especially next time out when he goes for 9 again in Budapest. 👀💯👍🏼🤫

It was a genius move by Piastri and Webber to get out of his cursed Alpine contract and move to McLaren, but operationally they're weak and in the team dynamics they still clearly favour lando too much over him. I hope Webber sees this, and is aligning Piastri for a future seat at a big 3 team after a few rookies years with McLaren. Piastri is clearly quick, and he has the pace and mindset to be a world champion, but McLaren sadly are not going to be fighting for championships until they sort out their issues, they've got a fast car right now, but you need more than that to make a title fight.

How is it mclaren and loando bias. Mclaren made mistake for both drivers not only oscar. The fact that they didnt double stack is very stupid but you have to think that that has happened to lando in Jeddah which even though wasn't as bad it still ruined his race.
@TheMissiIe
2 ай бұрын
@errikos9968 Lando was responsible for everything bad that happened to win this race. He chose softs when the team strategy was NOT softs, and he missed the box markers forcing a 4.5sec pitstop. I say Lando bias because they've never pitted Oscar first when he's behind Lando, the always leave him out too late, they always give Lando upgrades multiple race weeks before Oscar, the never let Oscar pass when he's clearly faster. And more importantly, everyone on social media agrees that McLaren favour Lando over Oscar all the time, it's the biggest reason why McLaren gets some hate
@errikos9968

@@TheMissiIe I don’t think you have heard the team radio because when the time came lando gave the choice to McLaren. Also Lando got upgrades 1 GP before Oscar not multiple which is completely understand or since Oscar is in his second year and Lando is ahead of Oscar in he standings. Usually the driver ahead gets the preferential strategy which also happened in Jeddah this year which helped Oscar and destroyed lando’s race. Also when has Oscar been clearly faster and McLaren hasn’t let him pass?

I think Lewis managed the weekend brilliantly, (his team also) that little bit more downforce may have given away a tenth or two on Saturday but during the rain on Sunday it allowed him to be braver and more committed than George and to also nurse those soft tyres in that final stint!

Alonso caught and passed Stroll on the first tyre stint, and then was pitted one lap after Stroll to come out 10 seconds behind him. Alonso had better pace and Aston had the chance to get 6th and 8th had they pitted the driver in front first. Instead they gave the better strategy to the son.

can everyone gtfo the fact that Daniel may get back into the RB seat- whatever happens this will end the discussion once and for all, either Daniel gets into RB and dominates or he doesn't. The conversation will finally be over and we can move on with other drivers. Further note, the word "deserve" unfortunately doesn't exist in F1.

Carlos has the same car that Charles has. „They’re not giving him the car“ is no excuse for falling so far behind your teammate. IMO, Carlos is showing us that he is the more complete driver of the two. Charles is fast over one lap. But the season doesn’t consist of 24 monacos, where the race is decided on a Saturday. Your teammate is your one key indicator. And I’m interested to see how things go with Lewis , if he’s gonna expose Charles’ weaknesses or prove me wrong in my assessment. Same goes for Verstappen. I honestly hope they take out checko mid season just to prove that it’s not Max overperforming in a mid pack red bull but checo underperforming in a top two car. Just for science, checo can have his seat back afterwards. Because a car can’t go faster than its maximum potential, no matter who’s driving, but it sure can go slower.

@@andrewmelton2686 carlos sat one race out because of a medical procedure. And still, he's only 4 points behind charles... He got 2 wins in the last two seasons, compared to charles who got one, and that was not a race, that was a drivers parade. If standings would say anything about the individual performance, lewis and alonso wouldn't be on 8 and 9 in the standings. Charles had something, but he lost it. And Carlos has shown more prowess more consistently ever since last seasons summer break. Charles had that one thing, being good over one lap and therefore having an advantage over the race distance, starting from higher up the grid. Without that, he can't hold up.

I see your point, however, I genuinely don't think Carlos is the more consistent driver. Did he get better points in the last few races? Sure. But considering the abysmal hell Ferrari put Charles through with strategy in Canada, Austria, Barcelona AND Silverstone in both quali and race them, he is the objectively better driver. He would've finished above Sainz in more than half of those of not for Ferraris fumbles. Charles has shown in stats that he is not only faster in one lap, but in race pace as well in every free practice. Carlos is the perfect second driver for them tho.

This race is undoubtedly a loss for Red Bull and Max Verstappen especially. Max losing it and damaging the car in qualy _and_ the fact that a *Mercedes* took a win over him here? The RB20 is looking like it's been well and truly found out and even the Max Factor might not be enough anymore. The only saving grace is that Max and Red Bull have built up a strong enough lead to maintain their championship momentum; though Checo looks likely to be letting the side down on the Constructor's so they may yet be at risk later down the line.
