There are good reasons for using battery gear, good reasons for using petrol. It's whatever suits you. What suits me, at 64 years old, is the reduced weight, noise and fumes, especially when I'm up a ladder.

Hi Rob. Battery unreliable? Can't quite figure that one out? But each to there own I guess. Garden looked much better after you'd finished. But I don't know if it's best practice to use a roller mower on the first cut. At this time of year I think the plant (grass) need as much light and air getting to the root zone as poss. Pushing it over for a stripe will reduce that. But Ha Ho! There is no wrong or right way. Just yours and my way. Good look for the season ahead. Hope you earn plenty of the green gold!!

@@maxwellsgrasscuttingservices Agree. All battery kit is expensive and it's not without its drawbacks either. Battery cost, life, run time, disposal when dead etc. But overall if you can afford it I think they also have massive benefits also. Each to there own I guess. All the best 👍

Wheeled mowers on soft lawns leave track marks, often the roller spreads the weight more evenly and leaves a nicer finish. If the lawn is struggling alot it should be aerated and top dressed as best practice. I used to have alot of husqvarna battery equipment and tbh the strimmer was terrible, you are better off with petrol. More powerful and much easier. Battery hedge trimmers are good as long as you aren't cutting long or large hedges in that case and in most cases petrol is still streets ahead. Do I carry any battery equipment now ? Absolutely not. Too much hassle for less noise and much less power.

Hi we started about 6 weeks back for lawns and I am glad we did they were really long and really wet and since then weve been doing a full week on lawns every other week and they have grown alot , I do kinda miss petrol power on some tools battery stuff is good but it doesnt really have the low down grunt for some of the hedge jobs. But again awesome video keep em coming.

Use whatever tools work for you Rob. I changed over to stihl battery combi, blower and hedge trimmer last year. I kept my 2 stroke kit ready if needed but found it's not been out, not once. No reliability issues with the stihl battery kit, and it's been out in all weather. For me there's no going back as battery is so much quieter and easier. More powerful too. Get the guys up at the Gap to run you through the options 😅. All the best.

Rob. Just finished all my 1st cuts yesterday, taken me 4 weeks to get round all of them due to the weather. A couple of lawns are in dire condition due to getting waterlogged and don’t start me on the height of some of the grass! Grass hasn’t stopped growing this winter. Still all done now and back on the regular cycle. I’m all Stihl battery on Hedge cutters, long and short reach and blower and when my current Strimmer dies that’ll be battery as well. Great bits of equipment though I do still have all my petrol versions as standby. I use the Cobra pro Roller 19” with the revs tickled up, great mower. I also have the Stihl RM650V 4 wheeler in the van, but it has been found lacking in the wet long grass, I might go back to Weibang to replace it. Great post as ever.
