As I watch this I see a car manufactured by a company that actually cares about what customers want. Physical controls for climate control, a physical volume knob and radio power button, a physical gear shift lever, not a rotary dial or buttons. An impressive fuel economy rating is also really nice. Hybrids are the near future, even if EVs are where we may eventually be. Hybrids are our best option right now. Also, people wanted more gauge customization and they got it. I’m tired of manufacturers putting everything on a 20” touch screen, putting the gear selector on a knob, and ramming it down our throats.

BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR - Huge fan of Doug's videos. I've heard him question why anyone would want to see a brake light indicator in their instrument cluster in past videos. In an EV or hybrid vehicle with brake regeneration, the brake lights can come on even if you don't hit the actual brake pedal because the regen system is slowing the car. While it's not terribly useful, I can see why some people might want to know if the brake regen is significant enough to cause the brake lights to illuminate. So, now you know.

As a Toyota Auris II Hybrid owner, I can tell you that an explanation for the red light bars in the gauge cluster when you press the brake are to let you know you actually brake. If you slightly press the brake pedal you get into a regenerative mode and the brake lights dont light so the person behind you if he's not paying attention he's not seeing you slowing down. Whereas if you press the pedal harder, you use the brake pads to actually slow down and the lights come on and he can see you better that you're braking.
