Sorry for the long wait!
The Spitfires are a awesome planes, but are a bit of a mixed bag sometimes.
--(PLEASE TAKE MY OPINIONS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT)--
In general, the Spitfires have great maneuverability and responsiveness, but consistently suffer from overheating (at least up to the Mk IIb), and the armament isn't necessarily the best, especially since you don't get much ammo to play with until the F Mk IX.
Overall, they are easy to fly, would totally recommend, but they do have their flaws, like getting BnZ'd to death, the overheating, and the ammo (and guns) issue. Also, be careful when dogfighting Japanese planes since they are more maneuverable than your (most of the time), so try to energy fight or BnZ them. The same applies for Italian fighters as well, but not to the same extent.
The Mk Ia and Mk IIa are your quintessential Battle of Britain teeaboo fantasies.
It has decent climb, good turn, good flight characteristics overall, but has a questionable armament of eight 7.7mm machine guns, which are okay but in my experience, you need a lot of trigger discipline and gun time in order to kill things. Not the greatest combination. Not to mention, the overheating is horrendous, so you gotta manage your radiators and throttle usage. Overall, would still recommend flying (but fly the Mk II, its got better engine performance at the same BR).
I would personally skip the Mk IIb.
It has the same overheating issues as the Mk IIa, gets outclimbed, not a lot of cannon ammo (60 rounds per gun. 240 total), and the belts aren't the Hispano Mk II belts, so they are slightly worse. Instead, I'd go for at least the Mk Vb, because it has improved guns, better flight performance, and the overheating issue is noticeably better. If you want to go a little further, skip the "Mk IIb" and "Mk V" and go straight for the "F Mk IX". It's wayyy better than the "Mk IIb" in basically every way since its got a better engine, better cooling, better guns, and twice as much ammo (120 rounds per gun. 240 total). Granted, the BR is a little higher.
The LF Mk IX is where it's at.
It's the Spacefire everyone raves about. It outclimbs basically most fighters, its turn is pretty good, but be wary when dogfighting Japanese and Italian planes. Its armament is a substantial improvement from the F Mk IX with its cannons getting slightly more ammo (135 rounds per gun, 270 in total) and replacing the four 7.7s with two 12.7 caliber machine guns. It's a great low altitude fighter, but you should still definitely climb in order to gain air superiority first (Performance at 5000-6000m is pretty good). Overall, you play this thing more as an energy fighter since its monstrous engine just pulls energy out of nowhere and you'd have the altitude advantage in your first engagement most of the time (provided that you've unlocked all the engine mods and 150 octane fuel).
Yes. I know I skipped a few spitfires like the Mk Vc and Mk XVI, but I didn't want to take the time to spade those planes. I have been playing the F Mk XIVe though. It's a beautiful plane (not that I'm saying the previous Spitfires weren't beautiful already) with excellent flight characteristics and decent armament. I've been having some fun with it, and maybe I'll even do the Mk 24. I also might cover the Seafires since I like the sound of the Hispano Mk Vs and its sexy bubble canopy.

As for future videos, the Ki-61 and Yak 1 are guaranteed to come out eventually, as well as the A7M2 and other Russian planes like the Yak-3 (maybe). I've also started playing the American tech tree and have become interested in doing videos on the P-38, P-51, and F4U, so maybe in a few years, I'll get those released XD.

ARMAMENT SETTINGS:
I use "Air Targets" for the 20 cannons and "Universal" for the 7.7 MGs, and "Ground Targets" for the 12.7s. As for gun convergence, I have it set for around 500m
