currently have astro a50s and getting rid of them for the steel series. the adjustable ear cup extenders constantly lose their position and sag. the head band foam degraded almost immediately causing the plastic band to dig into my head constantly. I actually am forced to to wear a hat to use them comfortably. It also constantly desyncs from the base station requiring me to run hard resets on it. Really surprised they're being endorsed so heavily here considering the myriad of short comings.

I have owned a f used all 3 for my PS5. Only kept the Maxwell ad for me it was the best balance for both gaming and music. The Nova Pro just fatigued my ears as their highs are a little piercing. Its their typical spund signature amdi know it could be changed in the equalizer but not my favorite. The A50x had a llittle too much clamping force for me. Would hurt my jawline after a few hours. The Maxwell while the heaviestvseem the best built in my opinion. Them again i prefer audio quality over microphone quality and the cpmfort is a non-issue for me

You've done so many videos about cordless "lightweight" headsets with things like "mic quality." TBH as a consumer Idgaf about those things, I want something corded which won't crumble to bits when it's cheap plastic hits the carpet, for less than $190. No microphone, no leds, but maybe some decent directional audio.

Hey Techne, please make a comparison between the top mid range wireless headsets, it would make for an interesting comparison, I think the Arctis Nova 5, Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 3, and the Blackshark V2 HyperSpeed, would all easily make the list, maybe you can even add the Sony Pulse Elite since they also fit in the $100-150 mid range price tag

Hey Techne, i bought the Coolermaster MH751/MH752 a few years ago based off your recommendation and it has been my favourite headset that I've ever owned. Since then I have managed to break my current pair and have found out that they are discontinued and not available for purchase anywhere in Australia (which is where I'm from). Do you have any good recommendations for a headset that is super lightweight, super comfortable and has a good mic? The sound doesn't have to be amazing, something the same level of the MH752 would be enough. Similar price range would be good as well but I don't mind spending a bit more for the right pair.

Can you recommend a headset with some good, loud Sidetone / Mic Monitoring? It's so hard to find any reliable information on sidetone when it comes to headsets without getting your hands on them in-person. Man mine and your conclusions vastly differ. I find the Maxwells to have a ton of bass, deep low rumble bass and everything in-between. You need to pump up the 32 hz to atlest 6 to get that nice bass. Also I wonder how much the wicked cushions affect the sound (I use the stock) The novas I found to have barely any bass even when eq. I went through about 8 wireless headsets while looking for my new set. I started from cheaper to more expensive eventually keeping the Maxwells. Wish I would have liked a cheaper set but the Maxwells were the best for me. I Tried the Nova Pros and 7s and didn't like the sound, they were some of the most comfortable tho. I really liked the Turtble Beach Stealth Pro but I found them uncomfortable, same with the TB 700s I think they were. Both sounded great but hurt the top of my head. I liked the Corssair HS80 MAX too.

I heard a lot about Astro A50 gen 4 that it's bass heavy but that build quality and no Bluetooth is keeping me back, I have never tried magnetic driver's so iam afraid I don't like them that much when I try them and 600$ is a lot of money to be wated

On the Maxwell You forgot to test the built-in beamforming mic (when you unplug the boom mic). I have been using it exclusively, on the "noise cancellation low" setting where it sounds better and louder. Also, just EQ the Maxwell and You get plenty of really quality bass/sub-bass easily. I hope You didn't just use the flat default "Audeze" EQ preset, that is the only possible way to get your "no bass" comment.
@TheTechne
3 ай бұрын
yeah I always adjust my eq's, I believe I show mine in my stand alone vid, and your right, you can really pull some fun sound out of them, but not much punchy bass like standard drivers, but that planners in general.
@madant7777
3 ай бұрын
@@TheTechne The thing is, you really have to push the EQ up to cca 6db+ in the bass, and they take it like a champ, true subbass capability. But a lot of people see that as too much (without even trying) and don't do it. Some of the dub-step like songs on YT rumble the skull. My EQ for SP and EDM music: 6, 7, 4, 1, 0, 0, 1, 2, 3, 2. Plus it really depends on your output device EQ, some MBO soundcards have a really tinny default setup/quality and no EQ capability in the control panel. I've come across a few examples where even the Maxwells sound thin, because it really reacts to the quality/gain of the input sound, since it is a higher tier equipment. So that detail could also be it.

Got the Audeze Maxwell last year in august. They fell out of my hands once in september and the thin diapraghms/layers/films/membranes on the right ear broke creating a crumbling sound everytime i moved around. Which was anoying at first, but managable. They fell (i think) 2 more times w/o repercussion. Today i dropped them again and not only did the left ear start making a crumbling sound. The right ear is now completly broken. Hence why i am here, watching a video. Hate seeing the Audeze Maxwell is still at the top.. the build quality may seem sturdy, but they are not all. i didn't smash them or anything, they simply fell on my wooden floor from table hight ...
