The 3 Greatest Visual Movie Scenes In The History Of Cinema
These are the 3 greatest movie scenes from a visual point of view and from a cinematography standpoint (in my opinion).
Starting with the number 1 which is from the film "Lawrence of Arabia", from Freddie Young and David Lean; this shot is INCREDIBLE and just won't leave my mind.
If you have not watched this movie, please do, you will thank me, it is probably the greatest cinematic experience (watch my other video about this film).
Number 2 is certainly "The Searchers" from John Ford and Winton C. Hoch, there is something about this scene that is very, very special. I watched it, and days after, it kept popping up into my brain and I just cannot forget it.
I think the Tarantino movie "Inglorious Bastards" has a beginning scene in which the girl runs away and she is seen from a door frame similar to this shot. I am pretty sure he was giving an homage to John Ford.
Number 3, I could not leave this one out, from Citizen Kane, I remember watching this film about 25 years ago at NYU (when I attended briefly directing and cinematography classes); I never forgot this scene. It was not the first film to use deep focus but he used it extensively and very efficiently for the first time.
You can easily spot the common cinematographic factor that ties these three scenes together. Sure, there might be other connecting threads, but there's this one thing that most folks (including professionals) in the filmmaking community seem to miss the mark on.
Watch my next video which will reveal the answer and this secret which has BEEN HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT ALL ALONG!
I am sure you will mention many other scenes and there are probably too many but I had to choose, and I chose these 3.
What do you think? Comment below. 😄 What do you think is the lens used in The Searchers scene, was that a 25mm?
Here's the link to the video answering the question about the common thread in those scenes: • The Secret Of Cinemato... this video should also appear at the end as a suggestion and it is called: The secret of cinematography and the lie that keeps repeating.
