I know not everyone agrees, but I always saw this as the true finale to Fairy Odd Parents primarily because unlike other specials, like Channel Chasers, this one utilized a lot of the characters within the franchise. I’ll admit, I’m a sucker for that sort of story when everyone you’ve met along the journey meet up in the grand finale.

@@AlanTGP1 I can't really agree with that take. A series finale should wrap up the main character's story in a satisfying way leaving no real questions about their future. Yep and after this Butch and writers were running out of ideas. They mostly couldn't come up with something fresh and new. I think Wishology is the only positive recognition post Poof Fairly OddParents has ever and will ever get and I definitely see why (for the most part, Meet the OddParents was a banger and nobody talks about it). Even with it's flaws, it still felt like the last time FOP had big, action packed stakes, used it's secondary cast and was actually any level of good. This was my first Fairly Odd special and while I will admit I say this with my rose tinted glasses set to maximum nostalgia I can't not love it just as much as the rest.

All the pain, suffering...and then its just supposed to be misunderstood?? Plus, the Trixie kiss felt weird. The entire show before it had made it clear that she wouldn't end with Timmy. That said I think The Darkness explanation was solely being exposed to nothing but pain and suffering and wanting Timmy because he was loved by so many unconditionally...tho it def was not well executed. I did appreciate giving Timmy more of a mature solution like with the first Poof episode, showed he had a chance to show the audience he was growing til the day he lost his fairies...well, if they ever got that far...which they didn't.

I think this movie should've used Tootie instead of Trixie. The entire series had been building up to Timmy finally seeing Tootie for who she is, and a heroic adventure together would've been great for that. Plus, Tootie being one of those kidnapped actually gives Vicky a good reason to join the team (wanting some money really made not much sense) and makes their relationship as sisters a little more human. And the sacrifice scene would've been far, FAR more impactful! Trixie isn't that bad, but she's really just a carrot on the stick for the series. Her reason for liking Timmy, "you can grant me wishes and stuff", is really flimsy and doesn't feel like the beginning of anything that could be called a good relationship. Season 6 really just assassinated Tootie's character and then thrust Trixie/Timmy together was SvTFOE levels of bad writing.

Unpopular opinion: I think this is the best Fairly Oddparents Movie event ever! Maybe I'm a bit biased since FOP is my favorite Nicktoon, and Butch Hartman is my personal Animation hero, but this event was so big and epic! it was unlike anything Nickelodeon or FOP had ever done before! It also broke boundaries for things like Timmy teaming up with his enemies, his friends and parents meeting his Godparents, and kissing Trixie! (even though it should've been tootie) I'm honestly sad this was never released on DVD like all the other FOP movies, and I think they should've made this a theatrical movie to be released in theaters, instead of 3 45 minute movies. It would have made this massive event even bigger! But regardless this still to this day remains my favorite FOP TV event!

22:03 Honestly, Turbo Thunder's backstory is a lot more tragic than Flappy Bob's for two reasons: age and scope. Flappy Bob was a baby, he never actually KNEW his birth parents, so to him HP and Sanderson were the only family he ever actually knew. He was groomed to be a weapon for the Pixies, but in his eyes, they WERE his loving parents, hence why he found it hard to think they were actually using him until he found out for himself. And while he's initially shocked and upset, he quickly gets over it to work with Timmy in stopping them. At the very end, while he's reunited with his parents, it's kind of just a sudden reunion for them, especially since, unless the parents were either not looking or the Pixies were deliberately getting in their way, the parents COULD have tried to find Flappy in the decades since they lost him, yet there's no indication they did. Hell, it's worse from the fact that the "tragedy" they tried to save him from was immediately revealed to be nothing dangerous and is treated more like a joke. Turbo Thunder meanwhile was around Timmy's age when the Darkness took his parents, he actually KNEW them and had an emotional attachment to them, and after the Darkness took them, he was ALONE. He was just a little kid left on his own on a desolate world with no one to care for him, and as far as he knew, his parents were DEAD, the Darkness ATE THEM. So he believed it was truly his destiny to beat the Darkness and avenge his lost family and homeworld... only to not only sleep through the first chance, but then fail the second chance, understandably falling to depression. His only hope then was to train who he thought was the true Chosen One, Timmy, in the hopes he could finally vanquish the Darkness. Him getting his parents back at the end was something he never thought would happen, but you could see as the universe deciding to throw Pippy a bone for all the crap he suffered because of the Darkness. It's one thing to be a baby who never knew their parents, it's another thing to be a child and watch your parents apparently die in front of your eyes.

Ever Fairly odd parents episode has it’s gem! But by the time we were at seasons 9 and 10, all the charm the show has was gone.

Yeah, though Seasons 5 and 6 had occasional bad episodes and Seasons 7 and 8 were a huge mixed bag. But yeah, just ignore all of Seasons 9 and 10.

Abracatastrophe and Channel Chasers were so epic to me as a kid, and still my favorite specials. Never saw this one cuz I was done with FOP at the point this came out but I remember reading an article about it in an old kids magazine thinking it sounded cool. After seeing this video, I might check this special out for myself.

After hearing Mark talk about how tragic and terrible late-era Fairly Oddparents is, hearing that this special is Decent(tm) is an absolute delight, like oh god, thank goodness, it's a 6, that's the best thing I've seen in recent memory!

15:43 To fill in the blank, Mark is likely talking about Johnny Dukey Doo (Season 3, Episode 12b) where it's literally just an entire parody of Scooby Doo from the start to the end, I literally know this by heart and I think I may have watched Johnny Test a bit too much back when it was still airing on my TV.

This was originally going to be the finale but Nick ordered another season so they changed the script, it even had everyone keeping their memories at the end in the original script

Okay, I don't think enough people talk about it, but I like the way you use random cursed images and memes out of nowhere. Like, it's just uncommon enough to catch me off guard and just common enough to make me anticipate it. Good stuff.

0:48 oh plz that’s nothing. On February 15, 2016, I faced a dilemma similar to yours but with three specials airing that same day. First was the SpongeBob special “SPONGEBOB LONGPANTS”, which was when SpongeBob started wearing long pants(shocking 😦😱). Then there was a two part special of gumball, “The Origins”, which was the day the wattersons adopted Darwin. And last but not least, the series finale of GRAVITY FALLS 🌲💫. It was tough for me to choose which one to watch that day and I chose to watch the finale of GF instead and I don’t regret it.

As someone that watched all 3 but none as they premiered, good choice. The Origins is still one of my favorite TAWOG episodes ever, but nothing can compare to the finale of a show like Gravity Falls. And in my oppinion, the SpongeBob one didn't even feel like a special whatsoever so deffinitely a good choice.

In Wishology movie, Timmy LITERALLY takes on God and Darkness! It's like Time Bandits; a self contained universe.

If I had a nickel for every cartoon special I've watched where the band KISS has magical, God like powers, i'd have two nickels. It isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

I legit enjoyed Wishology SO much when I was a kid! Mostly because I was a long time fan but I was also started getting into rock and roll which was sent into overdrive when I saw KISS in the special. I instantly went “Woah! They’re so cool who are these guys?” And now I’m a huge fan of them so I wanna thank Wishology for that at least

This will always be where the series truly ended for me. Sure, as you said Mark, it's not perfect by any means but it still has heart poured into it. It also has some of the most memorable gags/characters in the series. Sucks that NICK had to squeeze the series dry of all it's charm after this.

I think the crew felt that since all the other specials got split into episodes after their premieres by Nickelodeon, they probably decided to split them themselves and that's why they feel so disconnected from each other.

Speaking of "big events happening at like the same time," that was me with Truth or Square and Big Picture Show, only truth or square aired before big picture show. I'm really happy BPS aired after ToS, because that was an insult to the fanbase. "10 years, all will be revealed, it's a giant celebration of Spongebob," and all it ended up being was random cameos of whoever was at Nickelodeon studios that day and flashbacks to things rhat never happened. Then the single greatest Ed Edd n Eddy thing ever aired to end the series on a great note.

I've seen everything in this video, but never as a continuity. I think what happened is this: German Nickelodeon (I think they just went by Nick here at that time) introduced the episodes into the normal rotation for reruns and just aired them all out of order. Or maybe I just didnt catch them when they aired in order? Too long ago to remember my TV choices, I guess. A nice memory that just came back while thinking about this: Me and my grandpa used to watch Spongebob together whenever I was at my grandparent's, I'd laugh at the kid-friendly jokes and he'd get all the hidden references and jokes. Spongebobs German voice actor Santiago Ziesmer is better than anyone on the original, and nobody will change my mind.

I have... very specific memories with this special. It was always one of the coolest to me when I was younger too! But it was also one of the most frustrating... Because I would get to watch the first two parts, right (I think usually seeing the second one)? And being young, that cliffhanger had me HOOKED! But I was always SNUBBED because I NEVER got to see the Third part!! FOR YEARS!! EVERY TIME THE SPECIALS CAME ON I WOULD MISS IT! It frustrated the hell out of me as a kid, to the point where I think I low key hated the special. XD It's always interesting to look back on things we enjoyed as a kid with a more critical eye, although being aware that we are not necessarily the target audience. Like, as a kid I don't think I ever really noticed the similarities between the first two parts. And I also agree, character development would have been a good addition that would have helped so much.

I never saw or knew about this movie/trilogy thing. It honestly seems like The Fairly Odd Parents version of something like To Boldly Flee.
