These two actors going back and forth game me chills. They were both right.

If they were both right then should the son leave ? Or Should Father give Him 10 ? I wouldn't ask this man for 10 . I would immediately leave and tell him he is absolutely right . Then who would be wrong then ? The Father was wrong point blank period . He was wrong the whole entire movie .... He was trying to teach a good lesson but never abode in any lesson but working but it was mostly for himself. He was selfish and hid behind strictness as a mask ..... Great Movie that was also a play .

I was 16 and it was my last year of high school. Up to this point in life, my father regularly gave me money for school on Mondays so I could buy myself something to eat. But on that day in question there was no money on the table. I asked my father if he could give me 5-10€. He looked at me and said "how old are you my boy" ..me: "16" he said "are you still a child or already a man?" I proudly replied "I'm about to become a grown man." He then told me "then start taking care of yourself financially and buying your own food because that's what makes a man look after himself and his family." I never asked him again. Today i'm 30 years old an and happy for the lesson he gave me that day. Today I support him financially so that he can pay the rent.❤ Respect your parents and elder people. Take on their wise words and incorporate them into your life. All the best ❤

My father decided to come be in my life after making millions. He flaunted his wealth and started trying to give me life lessons. The only problem was he was 30 year's late. He practically abandoned me, but he was still my hero until my early 20s. When he made plans to meet up, i canceled all my plans and he never bothered to call me back for 2 years. I give him a chance in my 30s. But it was my kids that really pointed it out. When they asked why my dad never made any effort that didn't revolve around him. I stopped answering his calls. The irony is that i am also a musician, and busted my butt working a regular job and playing music. But when things went good for me in either area he liked to give himself credit. But God forbid he ever made a sincere offer to help me move forward. Like i said he is a millionaire, i myself am lower middle class. And i raise my children and still manage to travel the world playing music. Because my life is meant to be lived and it is the sacrifice i am proud i made.

My husband and i watched this with our kids and had an open convo at the end.. it was a few tears but brought understanding and brought us all even closer. I understand what you wrote. My father was not present in my life at all and, when I was about 23 he popped up. He recently found success and reached out in an attempt to mend his shortcomings. Skip the details, it didn't work out. He said something to me and what he said I wouldn't understand until a few years later when I became a father. What he said was... People like to use the term Dead Beat Dad. What people don't realize is that there was a time when that man did everything he could possibly do, in order to spend time with his child but every time he attempted, a narcissist mother made sure it didn't happen. I called, no answer, I'd pull up knock, no answer or the cops were called. She hid you from me, she lied to you about me and did all this as some revenge to hurt me like she felt I did to her. I bet when you were young she told you how horrible I did her, right? You see Son, I showed up, I tried and tried time after time. Dead Beat Dad, nah Son... Selfish Unfit Mother. I pray you never go through what I did." Well, years later, here I am going through it with my BM. You can say this, do that and what not but it doesn't work like that for us Dad's. Y'all Mom's out there that do this to a child's father, understand the consequences and repercussions.

I dont know about your financial background, but why didn’t he sue her? American law aint my field of expertise, but I am sure that a father holds the right to see his child unless he lost that said right due to some sort of negative action. So if he had no money there are pro bono lawyers for family law I assume so why didn’t he ask one of those? If I were in his situation I would have moved hell and earth for seeing my child, which I am by law entitled to do.

True! If you can't go to your parents in a time of need then who can you. The son for better or for worse shouldn't be made to feel ashamed for asking unless it's a regular occurrence. The son at the same time needs to embrace responsibility of being employed and financially independent. The son also wouldn't be in this situation if the father embraced his original responsibility. Both son and father are right and wrong in this situation. Its beautifully written.

Nobody was begging you asking for a loan isn’t a sign of begging it’s simply a favor don’t have a child just to be absent just to fall on an excuse called “working to provide” first thing you worried about is a lecture instead of having a conversation 🤔

@@BTBSwaggy nah call it what you want begging, loan, favor, ect you coming with yo hand out in need so u gone get this lecture that comes with it. U don't get to go to a bank and ask for a loan without filling out paperwork and asked a bunch or questions so it's no different. Far as a father being absent because he is providing is just dumb. Up into the labor movements and the rights that came with them it was common for men to work 12+ hours and the women didn't complain about him raising them because he was doing his part . Todays women aren't built like them back in the days they complain about a man providing 😆

@@BTBSwaggy I see your not smart enough to have this conversation because I clearly compared someone asking a bank for a LOAN and them not it just handing it over , the bank is going to send you throw loops to get a loan. Point is if you come around with your hands out then the least you should expect is a lecture. No one is trying to hear a grown man cry about how he was raised. I said what I said which is in those days it was not uncommon for a man to be working 12-16hrs. At 35 and a grown man you don't have right to come lecture your parents about how they did or didn't raise you, because your a grown ass man now coming, Coming around with yo hand out so if u want this $10 u gone take this lecture or don't ask that simple.
