@@spacehamsterZH They don't get a lot of media coverage from what I can tell so it's easy to not recognize them. The first place I saw the name was a brief note in Zoids Battle Legends, but I truthfully had to look them up on the Wiki to even know who they were

@@davidperdue7541 yeah, I'm more just a tad embarrassed because when I keep repeating that I didn't like NCZ, it's because I'm an old fart from the 80s and so obviously I consider the battle story superior to the early 2000s cartoons - and then I see something that's actually from the battle story and assume it's NCZ. Ouch.

I haven't entirely given up hope yet, but nothing like that's been announced and I'd be surprised - unlike the Ligers, they'd have to design a new BF from the ground up.

I have both 40th Anniversary Takara Tomy Liger. I didn't know anything about the MPZ Zoids until recently. The MPZ looks similar and have the same stand, l notice it has sounds too and rotating neck. I would love to have the MPZ Saber. Couldn't find any in my country

The MPZ Saber is damn near impossible to find, always has been. I think they made significantly fewer of them because it didn't sell, and so now you can't find them anymore.

Cool review! As someone who grew up with the 80's ones, I appreciate seeing more throwbacks. Now, last time I commented, I chatted with you about getting my first ever Zoid HMM, (the 80's inspired Godos one,) mostly as a homage to the fact that Zoids, (along with Transformers,) were that early taste of Japanese media that was not nearly as accessible here in the U.S. in those days. But as a newbie, I was apprehensive as to attempt to build it. and was just going to display it with that sweet Mercy Rabbit art. But every time I look at it, I keep wondering what it would be like to try building it. It just seems a bit daunting as a newbiel. Are regular wire cutters ok? Is sandpaper, and panel lining necessary?
@spacehamsterZH

The most important thing is that you get a sharp hobby knife. If you're going to use a regular wire cutter to take the parts off the sprue, cut as far away from them as possible so you don't damage them and then remove the remaining nub with a blade. If you need to sand, sanding sticks work better than sandpaper - you can actually just get these soft nail file sticks, they're the exact same thing. But if you're not going to paint, you're better off just trimming the sprue nubs down as neatly as possible, if you sand you also have to polish, it's best not to bother at all in my experience. Panel lining is always an improvement, but it's really up to you how far you take it. I would recommend you see if you can pick up a black Gundam marker, it's really easy to do with those and if you make any mistakes you can wipe them off with rubbing alcohol. The Godos really isn't a very complicated kit - just give it a shot. A friend of mine just picked up an Iron Kong as her first HMM (!!!) - she's never built anything but Legos before and so far she's doing fine. Maybe watch a KZitem video or two about basic stuff like removing parts from sprues.

Apparently there's a whole bunch of these 40th anniversary blue kits, and other than the colors, they just come with a sticker that says 40 or something... and they advertised them so little that I just found out by accident they even exist. I'm giving that release a pass, I really don't see the appeal. I already have all of these.

These kits have been absolutely stellar! I am extremely hyped at how they're going to pull of the Wild Liger if ever. I am a bit curious how easy it would be to strip some of the pre-painted pieces if one wanted to do a full custom color scheme.
@spacehamsterZH

That probably won't be too difficult - like I mentioned in the video, the paint already reacted with a relatively small amount of isopropyl alcohol that I accidentally got on it cleaning up the panel lines, so if you soak the parts a bit, I'm guessing it'll scrub off pretty easily.

You know, the old torsos were kind of short, but if you're going to elongate them, now he looks like he has no neck / head is a bit small.. it requires very careful proportioning to look right. I still want this though. but there remains room for improvement.

@@grahamsmith2022 still not as bad as Wardick. Or Battle-Willy, as we called him around these parts. Anyway, the HMM Guysack does look good. I'm a bit iffy about the concept art they've released for the Salamander because I think the proportions look too human-like (mostly because the legs are too long), but we'll see. It's not like I won't preorder it the day it becomes available.
