I agree, having larger hands is a huge advantage, It’s either that or you’ve reached your full potential. If your still training, good luck you can break through it.

I’m at the point where on a perfect day I can close a CoC2.5. I don’t believe I’m going to gain much more peak strength in my lifetime, so over the next months after I can consistently close the 2.5, I will be transitioning my focus to endurance.

Try taking a 3.0 CoC and do static holds and increase hold time over time. I can do a minute and 10 seconds, it has improved my grip strength more than reps have.

I have been training grippers for a year now and can close a heavy Cc no. 2 and am working on Cc 2.5 now which I can handle negative training with and can hold it for 6-10 seconds before it starts to open. I have like four millimeters to fully closed as I help to close it completely first with my left hand and then hold it with my right. I can't bear to keep it completely closed, but am now 4 millimeters from closed. Warm up T 3X10 some singles on 1.5 then 3X1 negative on 2.5 then 3X1 on No. 2 but has to help a little close it after round 2 because now the grip starts to give way but keeps it closed then around 6-7 seconds before it starts to open one. Then I do 2X10 on No. 1 and get to help close the last reps and keep it closed on the last as long as I can. I always release the gripper after it has opened about a centimeter. I notice when I run hard with no. 2.5 now that I need more recovery than before and have previously run twice a week once this program and rested for three days and ran a lighter program with type Cc 1.5 and 1 and run more reps instead, then rested for two days and drove hard again. Now I only run the heavy program but feel that I would need four days of rest between sessions. When you get up to heavier grippers do you ride as often or have you had to increase your rest days? I am 53 years old and may need a little longer recovery.

Awesome to hear! It seems like you’ve got a pretty solid rotation going. If you’re just hitting heavy it sounds like 2 sessions a week would be good with 3 days rest in between. It might be worth having an active recovery day on the second rest day to help with blood flow etc.

@@GodsOfGrip Quite right, I've noticed that if I run with my T 3X10 from day two on rest days to training day, I feel stronger on the training day than if I don't run anything at all between the heavy sessions.
@GripperCc

@@GodsOfGrip Have noticed that variation is the best set to increase faster in strength and reps. Constantly change rest days and heavy and light training. Now, as an example, I have run every other day with good results, but will now run two days of rest for a period between sessions. I have reduced the amount of training as I only ride one day's rest and only ride five laps then against like eight laps when I rest three days. But it takes time to build a grip, so you just have to be consistent and keep fighting, even if it's stagnant for a while because right as it is, you make a lift and you move forward again.

Another excellent video, Tom. I will be trying these techniques on my next CoC Gripper session. Cheers! I always use liquid chalk, mainly to just keep my flat clean - would this be OK? Don't normally use any, but worth a go.

The Elite 5 is easier, Elite 6 is tougher than COC 3. COC 3.5 and Elite 7 are similar with the Elite just a couple of Lbs higher on average.

Thanks for the Video. Training 3 times a Week is Not to much? I heard 1 Time a Week max out because the Fingers and especially the tendons and stuff Need longer recovery. So How do you Train with Full recovery in the Week? Van you make a Information about it? Iam Training my Grip for 4 Weeks now and closed the 2.5 CoC and want to make Progress to the 3.0 the Next couple of weeks. Any advice ?
@GodsOfGrip
Жыл бұрын
If you vary the training and make sure to do recovery work then 3 times a week will work well. I mainly use the extensor bands, grip rings and a combination of stretches to recover. That sounds like great progress, I would just try to get solid work with the 2.5 and 2 in then slowly build up to the 3, it can feel like quite a big jump.
