I would say that greatest tragedy of the Clones is that their whole story arc through the clones wars was that they didn’t need to follow orders all the time and that they had their own Agency. To see them suffer and sacrifice so much for the the republic only to have there agency taken away is far more tragic than anything else in star wars by far.

Oh, absolutely. I think I've said this before (possibly to myself), but the fact they went through so much as CLONES to carve out their own identities, and then they had that taken from them by a chip in their brains... essentially turning them into mindless clones... that's not just tragic. That's borderline horrific.

Hang in there brother. The military DOES do this at times, and many voices dwindle into nothingness. I had to get out before it was too late for me to keep my sanity (possibly my life). Clone 99 gave me hope during my darkest times. That's why I feel for the Clones.

If you want more Clone awesomeness I strongly recommend "Born to Betray" by DuduFilms. He has a ton of some of the best Star Wars tributes there are.

This is something that deserves some manly tears of sympathy. It's a duty, and speaks of a potential betrayal that is all the more real to men.

They’ve retconned Rex into Episode VI in a scene on the moon of Endor. Han taps the Stormtrooper and runs off and the trooper chases him around the corner into an ambush. There is an old rebel with a beard who is now cannononically Captain Rex.

I think the Clone Wars Season 7 stuff did something very interesting with the Order 66 Chips. Just commenting on some of the conversation at the very end of the video, about Fives’ death and Rex fighting the chip; it actually comes from that scene where Rex fights the chip. By including that scene, I feel as though Filoni did something super interesting with the canon introduced in the Lost Missions and the old EU canon. The old EU canon had the clones executing the order of their own free will, and of course the Lost Missions introduces the chip. However, I don’t think the chip was the sole factor in what went into executing the order. How many clones had a reaction similar to Rex, just off screen? We know of clones who actually betrayed the order to save their Jedi (even if it came late) via the Clone who saved a young Kanan, I believe it was Commander Grey. How many other clones fought as best they could to not follow their programming? In my mind the chip is something that enhanced a clone’s urge to follow their impulses by dulling the higher reasoning center of the brain. I don’t think it actually had anything to do with the entire “Kill the Jedi” thing, and more of just had to do with dulling the ability of a clone to think and act properly/intelligently/as an individual. We see a bit of this in the season 7 final arc, actually. Creativity and individuality in the clones falls drastically. They fall back on their training, they speak and act mechanically, as would have been drilled into them during their early years on Kamino. I think the willpower of a clone absolutely played a factor as well; hence why Rex was able to warn Ahsoka. I think that’s the tragedy of the clones; it’s not that they had no choice, it’s that their mind was literally manipulated and bent to the point where they couldn’t make the correct choice or the choice they wanted. I know this was a bit random, I apologize for that, I just like the theories surrounding Star Wars and more specifically, order 66. If you’re looking for more Star Wars, I saw someone mention DuDu Films; that’s a good one. Darth Porg has some good ones. Loacher Films has 2 great Star Wars animations; “Brothers” and “Betrayal” that I highly recommend. Overall? New sub. I enjoy the fact you actually commentate on the video instead of just reposting the original posters content. Take care of yourself and your family, and have a great day or night :)

This was an amazing post. I'm so sorry for the delayed reply. I wasn't aware we still had chipped Clones in canon that fought Order 66. That's fascinating. I may have to do a deep dive. Darn 🙃

One Protagonist No worries on the delay! It’s all good, I commented late. I don’t know how common the clones that resist the Order are, but they certainly exist, and with my limited knowledge on how the brain works, that’s just how I like to think of Order 66; not as a brainwash, more of a temporary suppression.

Darth Bane Path is on the list! (It’s been asked for a couple times!) The volume is a problem with copyright issues. I’ve spent hours upon hours editing the sound to get KZitem’s approval. One day, when the audio is clear, you’ll know KZitem finally likes me (or I’ve figured this out - still fairly new at this lol).

Krel seemed like a jerk at the time. But if you think about the importance of the episode. Krel caught on to what was going on and knew the clones had other programming.
