1976 Doctor J deserves to be on this list, Andy. The 1975-1976 ABA Nets did not have any other superstars, most people can't even name the team's starting five. The Nets played the favoured Nuggets in the Finals who had 3 future hall of famers (Bobby Jones, Dan Issel, and David Thompson). Being guarded primarily by arguably the best defensive player in basketball Bobby Jones, Doctor J led both teams in scoring (37.7 ppg), rebounding (14.2 rpg), assists (6.0 apg), steals (3.0 spg) and blocked shots (2.2 bpg) as the Nets won in six games. In addition, Doctor J was the playoff MVP and regular season MVP that year. As a bonus, the ABA Champion Nets then challenged the NBA champion Boston Celtics to a 7-game series to see who was the best and the Celtics and the NBA refused to accept the challenge. That makes the Nets to be the last true world champions in my book as the ABA merged into the NBA the following season and the Nets were disbanded and moved to New Jersey.

Great list Andy, i'm agreed with you in the top 3. It's fair to say even if they "carried" their teams, every team was extremely good and deep in most of them. The other main pieces just performed vey low when the team need them, so the first piece came out and took over. In the case of TD, Dirk and Hakeem, they have very good and veteran teammates, but not enough greats to be part of the key pieces, as the other 7 players in your top 10.

I think Dirk deserves the #1 spot since he was the only all star on the team and swept the defending back to back champion lakers, knocked out a young and energetic OKC team with KD, Westbrook and Harden, then took down the big 3 in the finals with LeBron, Wade and Bosh in 6 games

Dirk had Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, both perennial all stars, Tyson Chandler, and other great players. And you should have added Jordan in 98. Scottie was out half the season, and almost all of the finals game 6, Rodman sucked that year and got owned in the finals. Jordan carried them by himself at age 35 like it was the pre 90's bulls, like when he scored 49 vs. the clippers, or the finals game 6 where he scored 45 and the rest of the bulls 42. He was almost the only one scoring in the 4th, and had 4 huge steals, 2 in the last minutes.

LeBron 2007, LeBron 2012, and LeBron in 2018. In 2012, all LeBron had was Wade in the 2nd and 3rd round. Bosh missed the last 5 games of the Pacers series and the first 5 games of the Celtics series. LeBron in 2018 was by far - yes by far - the biggest carry job in NBA history.

Hakeem needs more recognition besides the carry job, Hakeem's 1994 to 1995 back to back championships are one of the most underrated in the NBA. For me, Hakeem just took the chance in a NBA without MJ and that 2nd championship was more impressive because of the drama in and out the court as this was the time I actually started watching the NBA back then.

Only the 03 Duncan run is the only thing that constitutes as a carry job. The rest had more than adequate help in regular season and post season you even used the wrong Rockets team as Clyde was a great in every round but the second. 94 was more of a carry job then 95. As Hakeem didn’t have a single player in any round hit over 20.

Well Kobe did have that ankle injury in game 2 of the 2000 Finals to be fair but game 4, he was the hero when Shaq fouled out. Kobe did play awful in game 5 where the Lakers got obliterated and an awful game 6, he may have scored 26 points but while not even shooting 30% from the field. Kobe was the hero of game 7 of the Western Conference Finals though.

Are we forgetting Jason Terry crucial contribution in 2011 finals? He was also averaging 18pts throughout the whole season/playoffs/finals. Since we're rating individuals, I don't think that Dirk should be #2. Notice how Andy didn't mention a single stat about Dirk that year (which he basically did for the rest 9 guys). 27pts 9rbs 2ast doesn't seem like a superhard carry, comparing to the other players on this list.

Indiana purposely injured Kobe as a strategy in the 2000 finals and then they tried foul out shaq, this almost came to help them win as shaq fouled out in the beginning of OT in game 4 yet an injured Kobe put on a heroic performance in that OT to win the game.
