Thank you. This is very helpful. I care for one fiddle leaf fig and some others like zz, gold palm, and aloe vera. I'm most experienced with tomato plants and other veggies. My fiddle leaf fig is still small and i like her. Thankfully my son likes her too. She got a place on our big (floor to ceiling) east facing living room window and a new pot this spring.

I’m so happy! I commented before that I bought your soil and it wasn’t drying. So I watched ALLLLLLL your videos and learned my soil was way too compacted. So I got a stick like you said and I fluffed my soil. I got your smart gravel and I also got your soil meter. I just didn’t get the fertilizer cause I had already and i got her a grow light because I wanted her to have proper light, oh also i got a small humidifier. So now MY CLAIRE HAS MANY cute babies and the leaves in 2 weeks are already 2x bigger. I can not tell you how happy I am. AND THAT IS MY FIRST HOUSE PLANT ! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you for all your amazing videos. It helped me a lot !

Hello, Claire! Thank you for your video. Will you please let me know if the roots lie in a circle on top of the ground, does this mean that I need to replant it to a larger container?

That is a good indication your plant is ready for the next size up! Anytime you have roots beginning to wrap around the bottom or top of the pot, your plant is ready! Happy Growing!

What would cause a streaky fading of some of the leafs..noticed first on the new growth on top while wiping them .. have Ben, in a bright northeast door ..open to all elements on the Porch water weekly, good drainage medium pot in a larger planter .. living in the Tropics large indoor plants were never a problem ... could it be he needs direct sun, which can be scorching here, don't want to fertilizer just yet.. only had him a couple of months ..should I give him full sun, let him dry out more, feeding,? Your thoughts appreciated .. 😊

Was it in the direct sunlight in those areas? Sometimes blinds can make patterns on leaves if direct sunlight is getting through and the light will burn the leaves in a pattern.

Claire, can you notch a branch for more growth or just the trunk?
@FiddleLeafFigPlant

You can certainly notch branches for more branch growth! Just make sure they are thick enough to create a deep enough injury without accidentally pruning the branch. Happy Growing!

@@FiddleLeafFigPlant question what season does plant need less water or should I water the same all year round?

I absolutely LOVE a fiddle leaf Fig - had one for years; lost it due to house fire. have replaced with 5 smaller plants - I combined 2 in one giant pot that is doing awesome. leaves are giant and is growing large. the second 2 plant pot I placed in my bathroom - tons of natural light and humidity. it grew more leaves but are very green, not the dark green? some of the more mature leaves dark green got brown around the edges. thinking it doesn't like humidity - moved it to my lr, but now its dropping leaves. HELP!!

Lighter color leaves will be the newer ones and they do darken over time. Has it been exposed to any other extreme temperatures? Brown around the edges may indicate it is not getting the adequate water it needs. However, if the brown spots spread towards the veins of the leaves and up towards the newer leaves, best to check that your soil is not staying too moist and the pot is draining properly out multiple holes at the bottom.

Yes, absolutely! They can be used together and you are also ok to include our Houseplant Multivitamin as well. They are all safe and gentle to be used together when you water. Happy Growing !

My fiddle leaf is growing tall, but the leaves are all small. Can I fix this?
@FiddleLeafFigPlant

Smaller leaves may indicate your plant needs more light. If your plant is directly in front of and up against your brightest window, adding a grow light may help.

Hello! It sounds like it is getting enough sun if it is sitting right in front of your brightest window. Make sure it is receiving enough water!
