It would be a blessing to share that these are called “The 12-year St. Bridget prayers”. The promises of saying these are enormous. You say these every day for 12years. I had my 10-year anniversary on July 13! I asked God to give me the grace to say these for the full 12 years. Got 2 more to go!!! God bless your ministry.

Jesus is our Intercessory. He died for our sins, no one else.

No one else died for our sins however every time we ask someone to pray for us, we are asking them to intercede on our behalf. They certainly didn’t have to die to pray for us. It’s called the communion of saints. If you aren’t Catholic, you don’t understand, but that’s Jesus’ teaching . We intercede for each other every day through prayer and fasting . Hopefully you have done it as well and not even realized that this is no different. God bless you.

@@sandiyewman9282 maybe it's the Catholic Church I went to. I was Never taught what you just said. There was a priest in Wray, Colorado who taught Bible Study on a Saturday morning and Catechism on Sunday morning before saying Mass. Upon moving to California there were quite a number of priests at Saint Mary's Star of the Sea church in Oceanside, California. In both of these Catholic church's we were Never taught that we interceded for our fellow parishioners. We were taught that Jesus sits on the right hand side of the Father in heaven, making intercession for us. Again, it must be where you were taught and what you were taught. My 3 brothers plus my parents were what were considered devout Catholics. We went to mass every Sunday and every Holy Day of Obligation. We went to the Stations of the Cross as well. This was what we were taught as a family. My father grew up going to the Catholic Church. My mother was from Wales and went to the Church of England until she came to the United States. She converted to Catholicism when it was feared my father was dying of tuberculosis during World War II. I received no other teaching other than what was taught in those 2 Catholic Church's. My take away, from what you emailed me and how I was raised are completely different. We were taught what I was told was Catholic Church doctrine. The Catechism of the Catholic Church. Where I live there is a Catholic woman who was taught that the Catholic priests took the place of Jesus, so they can forgive sins. She was also taught other Catholic Church doctrine that is contrary to what I was taught in the 2 Catholic Churches that I attended with my family. Since my aunt was a nun and my cousin was a priest, I had a large number of rosarie, prayer books, and scapulars. I was usually sent them when it was my birthday, at my 1st Holy Communion and when I was Confirmed.

@@sandiyewman9282 We are told in the Bible to pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus who is our intercessor. I pray according to what the Bible tells me to pray. I pray for others because the Bible says that we are to do so, so that we may be healed. I wasn’t taught the way you were, so I don’t pray the way you do. The Bible also says that if we pray according to God’s will, we already have the answer, which is yea and amen because the prayer was according to God’s word which is His will. On judgement day we will stand before God and give an account of ourselves. Hopefully, we asked Jesus to forgive us of our sins and we live our lives according to Gods word, the Bible, then we know we will be told “enter into the joys which have been prepared for you, thou good and faithful servant”. I received Jesus as my savior when I was 26 years old. It has taken me quite awhile to read and re-read the Bible to make sure I am following what God wants me to do. The Bible says, “what, know ye not that you are not your own, you were bought with a price”. That price costs Jesus His life. I am Gods servant, I am not my own person as far as my walk with the Lord. The Holy Spirit came into my life the day I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins. He dwells within me, leading, guiding and directing me where God wants me to go. Paul, the apostle said “I die daily “ meaning, he had to put aside the things his flesh wanted him to do, and do what God wanted him to do. For me it is totally about Jesus and what He wants. He is my intercessor when I pray to the Father in Jesus name. God knows the beginning from the end, He already knew that I would receive your email and He gave me the words to email back to you. Like I said, it has taken me quite awhile to know how to pray and to find out Gods will through His word, the Bible. I am still learning. But I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I need to know the words in the Bible so that I don’t pray amis.

If you are not praying to our Heavenly Father in Jesus name then who are you praying to? You are NOT the intercessor. If you are, you are contradicting what the Bible says. Jesus, who did die for our sins is our intercessor. He sits at the right hand side of the Father and makes intercession for us. If you pray to our Heavenly Father in Jesus name then you are following the word, which is the will of God. If you are not praying that way you may be following religious doctrine, I would say in your case of the Catholic Church. It is not Biblical doctrine. I know because I grew up praying that same way as a Catholic . I quit going to the Catholic Church for one reason, because soooooo many of my prayers were not answered. I also did not like praying in Latin, which I never studied, so I never knew what I was praying. Then the Catholic Church started have what they called Folk Mass. Sooooo many young people were leaving the Catholic Church, so the Folk Mass was said in English. A girlfriend of mine went to the Baptist Church. She wanted me to be her Maid of Honor at her wedding. I had to ask a Priest if I could be her Maid of Honor. It had been decided that people in the Catholic Church could visit other churches at that time, so I didn’t understand why I needed to ask a Priest for permission to participate in my girlfriends wedding. I wasn’t asked to participate in the Baptist Church service. I was a witness to the two people who were married. At that time several things were changing in the Catholic Church that I attended, but it wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to know that when I confessed my sins in the confessional that my sins were forgiven. That never happened. Maybe it did for you. The night I prayed for Jesus to forgive me of my sins, tears started streaming down my face. I KNEW all my sins were forgiven. I had been smoking, and I got up and threw a brand new package of cigarettes in the trash. I never had the will power to quit before. My life changed completely. I was a “new person in Christ”. Old things had passed away. My desires changed, my thought life changed. I had such an incredible PEACE in my life. SO AWESOME AND TOTALLY AMAZING! I know that I know that I know who my Redeemer is. Jesus set me free fromALL my sins. My grandmother through marriage told me that I was to “come out from amongst them”. Meaning that if I didn’t believe the same way, they did, I needed to stop doing what they were doing. That is biblical. The Bible says “For what fellowship does Light, have with darkness ?” I didn’t BELIEVE the same way they did anymore. I had the “MORE” that I had wanted through the person of Jesus Christ. He sent the Holy Spirit into my life the day I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins. I prayed a lot before I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and repented of all those sins. I may have had people praying for me at that time who knew Jesus and so some of my prayers were answered. It wasn’t because I had asked for forgiveness from Jesus. My 3rd grade teacher was a “born-again” Christian, so perhaps she prayed for me. But now, I know what God’s will is because I read the Bible. It is Gods word. That is in the book of Genesis. “In the beginning was the word, the word was God. Jesus was and is the word before He became man. I am 77 years old and have been reading and studying the Bible, Study Bibles and Bible Commentaries since I was 26 years old when I received Jesus as my Savior. I pray God’s richest blessings be upon you. If you are hungry front”MORE” of God, just ask Jesus to help you…..He will. HE LOVES YOU SO VERY MUCH. It isn’t because I am an American. Jesus is “no respect or of persons”. What He did for me, He will do for you. May I ask if you are a nun?
