Just to let you know, the lowest price for this watch is now about $95 USD. But the problem is just one regular maintenance on it will be actually more than the price of the watch itself. What a shame...

Regular maintenence for this watch and movement is between 5-10 years so I think it's worth it. Worst case, you can sell it for parts or mods and still recoup part of the original cost.

I just ordered the watch from Jomashop at 95$. But since I live in India, the watch is not available in India anywhere and was never available here in the past also. With customs duty and international shipping charge the watch cost me about 138$. Is it worth it at this price or would it be better if I waited for a big sale to happen in Jomashop where the watch price might have come down? I bought it during Presidents' day sale but there was not much discount at this watch during the sale. Would it be better if I have waited for a better sale with more discount or is the watch worth it at 138$?

I own the silver dial version of this (the SNKL15, to be precise) and I love it! The only thing that keeps me from putting it on a strap is the awkward case gap it creates - plus I kind of love that rattly, cheap bracelet, for whatever reason.^^ The only thing that annoys me is that the movement is not very efficient in terms of winding itself. On multiple occasions, I've seen it dead in the morning even though I've worn it for 8+ hours the day before. That's especially bad considering the lack of handwinding ability. Thanks for the review! Greetings from Germany

Thank you 👍. Yes, the 7s26 is not the greatest of movements and if you want to wear it everyday you must master the Seiko shuffle 🤣. Great watch in any case and a legend

Watching this with my SNKL23 on wrist! I got mine about one and a half year ago for $80 new, and guess I was lucky then. The details - both on the dial and on the case with great polished and brushed areas are really refined for a Seiko 5. I actully been thinking about getting the version (SNKL15 I think?) with a white dial with same stripes on it. Looks great as well. But prices are different now, as you pointed out.. "..we'll talk about the bracelet later, and you know were this is going" Yes, I certainly did lol. I remember having ordered a leather strap for this one guessing bracelet would be bad, but I still wanted to shorten the it to try it on first. I've never cursed that much when trying to adjust a bracelet, and just went "f*** this" and put the strap on. Great review as usual!

@@Horologique Haha, yeah I've even seen some YT review (Random Rob, maybe?) when he said he ruined a small screwdriver when fiddling with this. I'm used to inferior/crappy bracelets on affordable watches, but this take the prize.. But I actually think this looks best on leather straps anyway. And oh yes, a 4r36 would be a glorious feature on this one. Hm, wonder how hard it really would be putting in a NH36 from Ebay/AliExpress etc.. :)

@Tom Kowalczuk Is it due to the 4 o'clock position of the crown one have to change day disc? Yeah, I've seen some YT videos on changing Seiko movements, and thought that worst part should be putting the hands back on.

I managed to get one for around $77 on sale earlier this year...i must say, it definitely competes with entry level tissots that cost 2-3 times more in terms of overall finishing and looks... Really solid piece if you can get it below 85 bucks or so

Wondeful, that's what they should cost. They can compete in every aspect with entry level Swiss in everything but the movement

I can't help thinking it looks better on the bracelet but what a bad bracelet. I've been searching for a replacement solid link, solid end link bracelet for mine for a while now. I've sourced an nh36 movement and sapphire crystal but I'm not going to mod it until I find the elusive bracelet for it. Great video my friend. Cheers mate.

Dave I found a good one that's seiko branded on aliexpress, and I love it: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002321243351.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.66a24c4dOHEIJY The 5 piece oyster style bracelet with butterfly clasp matches it beautifully. The link above isn't spam, I promise.

Man, if I was outdoors and heard that bracelet, I'd be jumping on a rock wall and looking for a rattlesnake. That's appalling! But I have to say, that's a really pretty face. But again that Seiko movement is pretty old school. I'm totally on the fence on this one. And not because of the bracelet rattlng. LOL!

Currently $146 for a watch with hollow end links, rolled links, a pressed clasp, hardlex crystal and a movement that doesn't hack or hand wind The only positives on this watch is you're buying a great dial with a movement that can last for 10-20 years without service, but at that price...no
