It's aight u didn't get it, tbf this album is almost like therapy for mfs who've been through some shit. Quickly summarizing this album basically navigates su*cide, the reasoning behind it, the ramifications and the viewpoint of Quadeca's ghost regretting the su*cide. With this topic in mind, the production in extremely intentional, the long duration of songs help to let the viewer ruminate on the lyrics and experience emotion through the detail-riddled instrumentals. Absolutely a concept album with little to no replay value for the individual songs whatsoever, but I see it as the best concept album out there right now full stop.

I'm not sure why this project was recommended to react to from quadeca fans if he wasn't too big on Scrapyard. I love IDMTHY, but this album is VERY hard to get into compared to scrapyard (his most accessible project yet imo.) I'm all for putting people onto new music that's out of their comfort zone, but after reading a few of the comments on this video, I just wonder why some people are disappointed by his reaction to this. I knew the minute I saw this pop up in my feed that he wouldn't be a big fan of most the songs on here. I've seen quite a few of his other reactions. Music like Quadeca's is just not something he would be a fan of.

No hate but it seems like you might not be mature enough in for this music yet. Im not saying you have to be mature to like this because you dont everyone has different tastes but the reasons you give point to it. Lyrics/concept and production going way over your head.

its not about being fooled but hes speaking as a ghost to his mother theres a music video that goes with the song bro really took everything at surface value i really like your vids but you had a terrible take on this album and did not know the concept behind the songs or the album in general which severely limited your understanding of the lyrics and progression of the songs

I’m ngl bro you sound both prejudice and pretentious rn. I love this album alot but imma be honest had Quadeca not tweeted that it was from the perspective of a ghost when born yesterday dropped I don’t think my first listen would’ve been near as amazing as it was. It’s a nuanced project that requires multiple listens and a clear headspace to really grasp and being condescending to someone just because they may not get a concept or wasent prefaced on it makes you sound mad lame.

Aight gang, watched full reaction, give him 1 more chance, the album “from me to you” Will easily appeal to you more than the 2 you listened to, whoever said that you would rock with this is smoking crack, I personally like his 2 albums but it’s not something people can get into easily, very subjective music to get into when it comes to the albums you reacted to.

Imma be honest These kind of albums are hard to understand without context U should read into an album before u listen to it so U get engaged and understand way more abt it first listen. I dont understand everything On this album and I dont even really listen to this stuff Anymore Yet Knowing abt its themes makes U understand the emotions put into it. Thx for being open Tho

Brief explanation of idmthy: The character of the album is a version of Quadeca who follows through on taking his own life. He was stuck in a life he felt was not worth living and he became fascinated by the idea of not existing so he took his own life. To his surprise he ascends into a ghostly form of himself and quickly begins to regret his decision. He watches over his family as they move on from his death and he becomes desperate to communicate with them as he feels like he is being forgotten. In a moment of weakness and selfishness, he sets off a carbon monoxide leak to kill his mother. He instantly regrets it and turns off the stove. He is overwhelmed with guilt, loneliness, and the idea of being forgotten causing him to have a panic attack. After calming down, he reflects on the moments leading up to his suicide with a newfound perspective gaining some amount of closure. “let me go but don’t let go of me”. He is then able to enter the void and become consumed by static as he achieves his original goal of not existing. Only this time he wishes he could be alive with his loved ones.
