Put water in first,chemical in second kind of simple actually, but having 5 gallons mixed is more efficient.

Good stuff. I fully agree with all the info here. I never thought about the added hose for filling bottles. I just tip like pouring wine into a glass but that means slow and steady. Also I got a 4' folding table from home depot which saves a lot of walking back and forth.

I use quick connects all the time for my own hoses. Though you still have to take the time to screw one end into your clients spigot. You aren't really saving time on that connection since you still have to screw something on. I use a brass 90 degree fitting for house connections. It has large flares on the threaded end and makes it so much easier to spin on. It lives on the hose, plus the 90 degree turn prevents kinks. Put a nice soft crush washer inside and it will prevent any leaks.. One of my biggest hate for the job is storing hoses. I invested in a garden hose reel, and high pressure reels that I mounted directly to my pressure washers. Put some in line shutoff valves and not only is it quick hose retrieval, but prevents water from spilling all over your gear when not in use. Saved me tons of time setting up AND breaking down gear for every job.

Would you be able to provide any pics or more details on how you were able to mount the reels to your pressure washer?
@justinrounds517

Sorry I never check these replies. The garden hose reel isn't mounted to the pressure washer, but I have a reel for high pressure line that is. Mounting options will vary based on the reel and the washer itself. I went with a pressure washer that has a tube frame, and a reel that came with mounts for a post. I mounted the reel directly to the front tube frame of the pressure washer. Now I have the distance for the garden hose as well as high pressure line in the event the water source is further away from where the vehicle is parked.

I enjoy tools and tips discussions all the time with any profession where time and money constantly collide. I get the same feeling about things when it comes to wasting time per job when it’s busy. When it’s slow I also prioritize things like I should clean up and organize things an try to improve the set up. Right now, I’m looking to figure things out with microfiber towels an what I like best an how to clean and manage things . Drying off cars after the wash seems to be a huge time waster. The other is speeding up the vacuum process which I also don’t enjoy. I’m looking at different vacuum tools lately. Being more methodical and efficient is really something I think is constantly on the mind of every veteran detailer who hates seeing the clock role by an find themselves not yet done within the desired schedule frame. Getting “DONE” just seems so important from the whole start to finish process.

Great vid! Efficiency allows for us to focus on the job; or any creative venture. As to filling solution bottles, I think back to my bartending days. Short of a large supply container, one can fill multiple 32oz bottles and cap them; until needed. Your method is quite sound. My approach is an alternative

I use a splitter on my power washer. Quick connect is prone to leaks and if you get plastic it's good for about a day.

You make sense but I think it would be more beneficial for the viewer to shorten down the videos. 10 minutes to talk about using a quick connect, using 5 gallon dispensers with plastic tubing, and a utility caddy, seems wasteful in my honest opinion.

When you upgrade your pressure washer you will feel the same way again. Once you have more flow and the right psi, you will realize you have to spend less time rinsing down a car. Especially when rinsing off soap you don’t have to keep rinsing those small areas that like to hold soap.

If you are mobile with a trailer or have your own shop a detail cart with drawers and a work top you can keep the drawers stocked with your rags and brushes and such put a bottle holder and or polisher rack on the side(s) and top can come in handy sometimes too. Keep it all set up so that when your ready to go everything you need is right there ready to go. I was thinking of getting a deionizer just not sure its worth the cost seeing how they need to be replaced

Hi Wilson, I don't know how else to reach you. I'm in the Caribbean and I'm about to start my detailing business. Money is not an issue and I want to purchase the Optima Steamer or a similar high powered steam machine. I would love to hear your thoughts on this machine pros and cons.
@rheijne95
2 жыл бұрын
I'm not Wilson, but have looked into it and like to share my opinion. For cleaning paint and wheels, you're way better of with Optimum No Rinse. For interiors it doesn't really add anything, other than damage to your lungs for breathing in dirty vapours. For engine bays, you're better of using a degreaser, brush and rinsing somehow. Optima Steamers are costly and high maintanence machines. A pressure washer is way better for detailing cars, a 'necessity' even, as is compressed air for interiors.

@Rik Heijne thank you, this information was helpful. I live on a small island where parking is limited and we have detailers taking up spaces all over town with reservoirs and people have to traffick into this areas making it a pain to commute. Where I live it's not like in America where it's as easy to pull up.to drive ways so everyone drives to the town. Thought something like the optima steamer in the back of a mini car would have been ideal to pull up, get the job done and move on. Also water waste is a huge issue here.
