Class A means - highly addicted drugs in rehabs. This song was written by Ed for a 18year old addicted, prostitute girl he met at a homeless shelter. Snowflake- Ed himself says it crack No phone- she gave her phone for drugs. Crumbling like pastries - she is sweet but he can see her braking in pieces ... Worst things in life comes free to us - he is actually being ironic. "Just under the upper hand, going mad for a couple grams" addiction is the upperhand And another fun fact Two years later the girl passed and he wrote "give me love" as a tribute to her *Just found out the girl's name was Angel. She broke all the rules of the shelter, so they said if she behaves she can make the rules. First thing Ed saw on the walls was - Angels Rules. Ed was 18 ...when he experienced this and wrote the first line on his way home from the shelter...

LeilaPotter4eva ! The “go mad for a couple grams” refers to doing whatever you can to get the money to buy drugs (which ruin your life.) “Sell love to another man” means you’re selling your body to a man who you have no bond with. You’re doing it for the money since your in such a low place in life (typically because of drugs). “And in a pipe she flies to the motherland” (I think) means her life ends due to abusing drugs. “Breathing in snow flakes” is basically just doing drugs (cocaine to be specific).

lost 3 childhood friends to heroin and crack/cocaine. everytime this song comes on i cry inside a little. one of them was called Olivia and Ed was her favourite artist. she was a genius and so funny. wanted to be a software architect(no idea what that is). made sense of the world in a way that seemed to make her come out on top. then for whatever reason she tried the brown shit. nothing could of stopped her. it hurts so much more differently to see wasted potential and a life wasted and getting a phone call to come to some random flat to help resuscitate a twenty year old whos clearly OD'd. i hate the touch of cold skin now. Rip Olivia, Phil & James. Miss you forever. your safe and free upstairs. save a spot for the gang when we get there!

I used to have a "best friend." We would always play this song, and it's was ours in a way, I guess? But our friendship ended, from my own doings. I found out, she wasn't the kind of person I wanted in my life anymore, and I did what I could to remove traces of her from my life. I panicked every time I got reminded of her, or when she texted me to 'check up' on me. I was the one who first found this song, and I showed it to her. I wish I didn't.. It's so hard to listen to this song now, and not think of her. I won't want to think about her ever again, and I just hope that one day, I could thoroughly enjoy this song again, for what it is, and not the person who ended up hurting me.. I had to get this off of my chest. It's probably messy, but my brain's a little messy, and life's a little messy, and I'm pretty sure that everyone here has felt messy like me before.

I first heard this song when I was in 7th grade as my art teacher would turn on the radio for us to listen to while we did our work. It was on the radio quite frequently, and my friends and I laughed whenever we heard the "it's too cold outside" part (as I lived in Phoenix and it's normally very hot outside) as well as the "crumbling like pastries" part (as for some reason that lyric made us want to eat our lunch even before lunchtime, which was several hours after art class). Now I listen to this song as a 19 year old, and it's definitely not the same.

I remember when I was in rehab, as you got closer to graduating you had to hold a class for your peers. A girl had us all sit in silence and watch the video and listen to the song. A majority of us were in tears at the end. She gave us a speech on her life and how her drug addict parents had let people "use her" as a child for drugs and her progression to becoming a prostitute addicted to heroin and why it felt impossible to get sober facing the circumstances she was in. I think about her and the others there often, hoping they were able to get sober like I did. A lot of those people had stories much sadder than mine. Remember that the next time you see a person lying on the street strung out. Nobody wanted to grow up and be that way.

For me this song always hit close to home. Most of my life I've lived in a drug house. My mother left our family for drugs and the only pictures I really had of her were mugshots on ther internet. She always looked cold and her face sucked in. My father always said he would never do drugs but he had a achohal problem and after that it was drugs. He is not in the right state of mind most of the time and calls the police telling them that someone killed us. Even though we are standing right in front of him. He always had a beer belly and seeing him skinny now is frightening. I cant be near him without crying or wanting to scream at him but it would mean nothing because he doesn't understand. I was taken away two years ago when I was 13. I am turning 16 soon and drugs have taken away a lot of important people in my life, so I just wanted to say if you're struggling with a situation like mines or you're the one doing drugs yourself, stay strong please, you deserve a lot better and will some day achieve that.

My first love is now an angel. I fell harder for her than I had ever imagined I could have. Her addiction was stronger than my love. I tried everything, bought her a cellphone because she had sold hers, picked her up from hotels, streets, or sketchy locations all just in hopes of helping her. She was 18 and had a beautiful smile that radiated warmth into my soul. Her laugh was a pleasure to hear. I wanted a life with her so badly. She did too but she told me that I needed to move on and find someone better. I just wanted her to get better because I cared about her. I ended up having to cut her out of my life for obvious reasons but I think she's gone now . A few years ago I saw her walking around a crumbled skeleton of her former self. Shouting random things, she looked terrible and I can't imagine she got better. This song is for you my love ❤
