Thanks to TheComicTutor for his help with some of the research and scans used in this video. Really grinded out this video for you guys before my midterm essay deadlines and it was a lot of work with this video alone requiring nearly 300 scanlations during research and powering through several novels and dozens of Short Stories to get them. It'll be a little while before my next one as I get back to focusing on my university studies.

I don’t like to mention his name but basically like SethTheProgrammer’s “how strong is goku” but for superman and like explain where he would scale in the tiering system. A lot of people claim he’s outer and whatnot but a lot of people don’t know how or what feats get him there, so I’m sure a lot of people would like to know how superman scales

Technically Nicol Bolas does have a sad backstory. His sister got killed by human hunters, moments after he and she were born, alongside his twin brother Ugin. I mean, his young mindset was centered around "Kill or be killed" Even I would understand the feeling of becoming an evil, powerful, egotistical, and incredibly vengeful asshole after watching a sister helplessly die. Yes, he is a powerful, and egotistical jerk but that's because the world scared him. He became what he is, or was since he is now defeated, because of his sister's death. His twin, Ugin goes further into this when he talks about their sister's death. "Our sister's death haunted me because of how briefly she had lived, and how savagely she had died. As for Nicol, it angered him because it scared him." - Ugin. Nicol Bolas is not relatable because of all the sh** he has done throughout his 25,000-year life, but how would you be if you watched your sister be mauled as you sit trapped, and helpless to save her? Wanting to scream in anger and fear, only to be shut up, to watch muffled? If his sister didn't die, the Nicol Bolas we all know and love would never be the badass and powerful villain he is. Most people when talking about Nicol Bolas overlook his birth, because the sh** he's done is much more well-known. His backstory is one of anger, envy, and sadness. The only one that can possibly and truly understand who Nicol Bolas is, is his twin brother Ugin.

It is a curious note to think of that in fiction, most beings that display supreme abilities tend to be modeled more as one of two things: Superhuman, or eldritch abominations. Which is to say, cause we are humans writing this and just love ourselves a bit too much, we like making powerful things either be nothing like us, or like us but with extra perks. Literally "superhuman" abilities. Now one keynote to make is that establishing how power scaling works in a written work is a heck of a job the more complex it gets, so having nigh unimaginably powerful entities is a difficult chore because then you run into the logical problems of having such a lot of running around. In fact, I would argue that writing supremely powerful characters that do not just atomize any story they are in (making a character so powerful even the literal story they are in falls apart happens a lot, especially for less talented writers or folk just starting out) takes a lot of skill/caution, and thus more grounded lower power characters are always easier to write.

This guy can give Mordru a run for his money, always loved the idea of a Dragon-Wizard hybrid achieving apotheosis. My only complain about Bolas is that the design of his head is bizarre and uncanny, they couldn't decide If they wanted something more human or more dragon, and ended up making that abomination that haunt my nightmares. Works great for a villain, but still, terrible artistic decision.
