What an excellent talk! A lot of great reminders to recalibrate ourselves and recommit ourselves to be laser focused on Jesus Christ amid all the distractions and noise of our fallen world. Thank you very much for these great counsels!!

I wish I could contact Kevin to ask some very sincere questions. There are so many parts of this talk that made me cringe… it seems that I have found myself on the opposite end of the spiritual spectrum. I have found rigidity to be a personal anxiety “bomb” and the only relief I can find is when I just look simply to Jesus and the commandment to love. Just love. Not rules and rigidity and complexity and black & white checkboxes… the only anxiety-balm I can find is the command to just love. Love. On that hangs all the laws and commandments. I don’t doubt Elder Pierson’s intelligence or sincerity, BTW, I just (currently) see things differently and wish I could explore it together with him personally.

I can understand the stress of anxiety when it comes to listening to gospel talks, whether that be devotionals or conference talks. It's important to remember that Satan wants us to be stressed when it comes to keeping God's commandments. That is not God's way. And there may be times when we will not be able to achieve the stamdard of spiritual strength we have set for ourselves. But that is not God's standard. You are on a right track when it comes to the gospel not being some sort of rigid checklist that we have to adhere by, but there are commandments that we are asked to follow. Tithing, for example, is a clear commandment. By understanding the doctrine of sacrifice, I have come to understamd the importance of staying on top of my tithing. Is there a strict rule over what constitutes as "income"? No, that's where your personal application of this principle comes in, which is between you and Heavenly Father. Be sure not to pick the easy way out, but use the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help guide you towards what you CAN do, instead of what you "SHOULD". We are told to "feast upon the words of Christ". How you do that is between you and Heavenly Father. For me right now, I'm listening to a talk/devotional per day at work, though I am working towards actual scripture study. And so on for all of the doctines and principles we are taught. Only non-negotiable things are clear sins like abuse, breaking the law of chastity, porn, murder, etc. One thing to know is you will not be perfect in following all of these principles correctly. Ever. And that's okay. That's where the love of Christ comes into play. I've come to understamd for myself, with ADHD and autism, that Heavenly Father only expects me to do all I can. When everything is not very much at all, that's okay. Doesn't mean I can rest on my laurels - I've learned that this mean I need to make the most of the strength I have, and find ways to increase that strength so I can do more. Everything is on the Lord's timetable, not our own. Just work to always improve yourself, don't compare to other people that may appear to be "further ahead" than you are, and trust in Him. And don't forget to ask for help from others when applicable. Piece by piece, line upon line, precept by precept, here a little, there a little. If you're overwhelmed, then with the Holy Ghost, figure out one thing to work on, and focus on that. Then when you're at a good level, work on something else.

Really appreciate how human Br Pearson gets around 30mins, sharing about his falling short as a father. Strikes me that the entire talk is for the purpose of glorifying God. An effective speaker who's not self promoting but very clear about doctrines and where he stands. Not about looking good. I'm watching and learning:)

“It’s a bit disheartening to watch some return missionaries immediately jump into rush hour traffic toward the nearest large and spacious building. Discarding along the way daily spiritual habits learned, at break neck speed and guzzling the koolaid of social media and pop culture instead of the living water of the gospel of Jesus Christ. After working so hard to become disciples who used to be someone else they focus on become someone else who used to be a disciple of Jesus Christ” Wow

Oh! Vamos

08:24 AM AEDT 21 October 2022 Hobart, Tasmania, AUSTRALIA. Greetings, Hello: This film notification has now come into my old dying computer (and my typing), I have not watched this film through yet and I thank you in advance for it, because Elder Kevin W Pearson's counsel at October 2022 General Conference rang true notes of the Holy Spirit's counsel as the big standout for me at General Conference. (And "Read The Book Of Mormon Every Day Every Day Every Day" I need doing better at this). I am Primary Pianist and Organist in our Ward. Please say Hello to him, he was in our Pacific Area Presidency not that long ago - wonderful. Please read my words, Kind Regards and Thank you.
