I'm from Appalachia in West Virginia. I now live in Michigan. When I hear deep Appalachia accents, now...It sounds a bit British/ Yorkshire/ Cockney/ Scots-Irish. Fascinating.

Love the Yorkshire accent. it's a beautiful accent with no diphthong on the vowels. Examples: "Day" is pronounced "Deh." "Oh no" is pronounced more like "ah naw," and so on. There is no second vowel sound that curls around the first open mouth sound. When the women speak with a Yorkshire accent, they sort of sing and join phrases together with a rhythm. It's very appealing. When the men speak it, they have a very masculine tone. It is not a delicate accent usually, but it is distinct and after all my visits there sounds like home. I met a man in Yorkshire once who had a pet rabbit and he described it as a "polio rabbit." It took me a few minutes to figure out he was actually saying a "poorly old rabbit." So the accent can throw you a bit if you're not from there. But I find it a kind and welcoming accent mostly because all the people from Yorkshire I have met are kind and welcoming.

Just now seen your video nine years after you posted it. I need to get out of the house more! Anyways, the little bugs you touch that roll up into balls we call either rolly pollys, pill bugs , and I have even heard them called doodle bugs. As for the rain when the sun is shining, I have always heard it referred to as "The Devil's beating his wife". Without sorting through every comment, I don't know if anyone else may have touched on these subjects or not.

I think the "grocery contraption" question is there because it's always called a "trolley" in the UK and a "grocery cart" or "cart" in the US. I've never heard it be called a trolley, and I don't get it because (in the US at least) a trolly is a vehicle pulled by an underground cable, whereas a cart is any non-motorized thing with 4 wheels.

Now, once here in the States, my visiting friend from England had some difficulty in a restaurant. It seems he wanted to visit what we call the "rest room" or more plainly the "toilet." Now, in England, in public places at least, they refer to the "toilet" as the "cloakroom." In America, however, the "cloakroom" is where you leave your coat (your "cloak", if you are in England). So, he asked for the "men's cloakroom". And was told, "We have only one cloakroom, for both women and men." And he said, "That's very democratic!"

My closest ancestors that weren't born in the US (2nd great grandparents) were from Leeds and ended up in Texas, and I can actually hear a lot of the way I talk in your accent, especially when you read the list of words out.
