Within Ecuador is one of the world's most scenic volcanoes, which produced a major explosive eruption in 1280 AD. This volcano is referred to as Quilotoa in Ecuador, which today contains a high altitude lake filled caldera. This volcano is very similar to Mount Pinatubo. It undergoes very long periods of dormancy before producing major explosive eruptions. This video will discuss this volcano, and mention what its future hazards are.
