For those who need them : the lyrics! - cough - A deficit of the attention and hyperactivity is in the name. But you can be one or the other cause it doesn't have to be one in the same! Hyperfixation and procrastination and new ideas every day! Depression or issues with our motivation and not hearing what you will say! We will be motivated if what we are doing is: important, engaging, or fun. Organisation, prioritisation will typically struggle a ton! We pace and we fidget with every diget and have a hard time sitting still. We hit the canteen for a cup of caffeine cause its kinda like taking a pill~ There's uppers and downers and over the counters and anti-depressants galore. But everyone thinks that we lie to the shrinks so that we could just get us some more! There's the train of our thoughts on its own getting lost and now we are forgetting to eat. Our brains never stop with the cyclical thoughts but we struggle with cycles for sleep! We're sensitive to all rejection but we can forget that person exists! The same thing can happen with every day items, they call it object permanence. We're loud and we finish your sentences and we will argue with you for the fun. You call us annoying but you are just boring and so is your conversation! There's destructive behaviour and imposter syndrome and some of us struggle to read. Brain fog is common but we're problem solvin' and dealing with all the mood swings! We're prone to addictions and it is a fiction to think we don't pace on the phone. If we body double we'll stay out of trouble cause we suck at working alone! We're prone to anxiety, thrive on variety, adventurous in the bed. Our memory sucks so it would be our luck that we keep random facts in our heads! SO, if you feel like lots of the stuff in this song are the things that you feel every day! Then here is my honest suggestion for you: FIND A PROFESSIONAL THEY'LL BE DISCRETIONAL! A DEFICIT OF ATTENTION AND HYPERACTIVITY IS IN THE NAME!!! ..Damn dude, I already thought you were cool but writing that- you are downright impressive! Sorry I'm late, and sorry to all those who struggle with reading lmao :,) Tell me if I missed something ! Ty for the vid/song :D!

I've already forgotten some of what was in this song, but the few things I do remember have definitely checked all the boxes. My ADHD doesn't help at all in a fast paced environment while working in a fast food restaurant. I like it better when it's slow because if I'm expediting and there's more than 3 or 4 orders on the drive-thru screen, I get majorly lost and someone else always has to step in, especially if there's orders for the dining room too.

I've got some form of ADD, I know, but I'venever been diagnosed. Faced paced is where I thrive. I come from kitchens. When it's slow, I have a hard time focusing. Fast paced keeps my brain on task. When the rail is full, the POS is still spitting out tickets, you're short on staff, and the walk-in is barely held together with prayers and duct tape (and the duct tape ran out two hours ago), that's where I thrive. Problem solve now, I don't have time to overthink or over analyze.

Been listening to this on repeat for like 30 minutes. But who can trust my sense of time 🤷♀️ Went to the kitchen to eat dinner, (its 9pm, i have no appetite during the day unless I have immediate access to a preferred food🙃) saw the dishes need to be put away, next round washed, counter and stovetop cleaned, got overwhelmed, forgot about eating and now fighting the idea of the kitchen knowing i have to go in there because i have to eat 10 minutes later. At least it was a fairly productive day. 🙄 At 20 finally seeing people around me be diagnosed and realizing all the things ive(and others) hated or questioned myself for my whole life were not me being lazy or some kind of dunce because i lose all important information when i need it or am asked a question unless its a crisis or cannot stay with any hobby for more than a few months, even if i loved it - it was just adhd running unchecked and forced down by people who dont or wont understand it. (That is a run-on sentence, my friend.) Working on getting a real diagnosis now, and fighting for myself. I hope everyone can get the understanding and help we need. I love you all.

You're just more productive in your head. But you wanna know what's worse? Having ADD (procrastination) and being a perfectionist. Even when I get the motivation to do something, I may quit halfway through because I don't like how I'm doing it. Writing essays for school (especially when I have a lot of ideas for the topic) stinks too. Speaking of school, guess what I should be doing right now? Anyway, this could all just be because I'm an INTP (MBTI thing), but who knows? I could actually have ADD. Parentheses are a great way to avoid run-on sentences and still get random thoughts in.

Then i suggested finding a professional and getting tested. A lot if adhd symptoms are occurrences in Neurotypical people as well and therefore the symptoms seem “relatable” to a large audience. But the difference between ADHD and Neurotypical brain that just has some quirks often times the frequency of the symptoms, their intensity and their impact on life. But I’m not a professional so if you go to professional, they can help you through whether or not you have the condition or just an average with some quirks.

I brought this up to my doctor (who I see every 2-3 months with like 20 minutes sessions with him mainly just typing and not asking questions) the other day because I relate to A LOT of these if not every single one of them. Told me that he doubts I have ADHD and wants to stick with the bipolar diagnosis. My case manager who I see at least see every month with 30-60 minute actual conversations) disagrees with the diagnosis. Even my counselor who I see every week disagrees. It is maddening that I'm not getting what I need out of the doctor. Like how can you go say no to this when you don't even really talk to me and I'm just there so you can refill the same prescriptions.

so infuriating, like why is the most crucial part of my treatment limited to 20 minutes? by the time you get past the ‘has anything changed since last visit, do you have medication allergies, are you going to hurt yourself’ that you already f$&@?& answered when you checked in, you have 10 minutes. how are you supposed to discuss symptoms/meds/different doses??! tbh idk how practitioners are even comfortable prescribing anything in that amount of time

Check with a different doctor if you're struggling. I'm pushing 49 and just got my official diagnosis last summer. If you feel like you've got enough coping mechanisms down pat maybe you don't need meds, but I'd talk to an ADHD specialist before I trusted a general practitioner's say so. They're human and have biases. As an ex-CNA, I've experienced doctors flubbing up pretty badly, doesn't hurt to get a second opinion. And there are significantly more ways to cope than 'just' meds, so it's worth talking to somebody who specializes.

My therapist gave me homework to count how many things in this song resonate with me. I have watched it 3-4 times now and still can't figure out if it's 16 or 17.
