Now that's a "perfect ending". Tackling some very potentially contentious material in a very deft manner: Interracial marriage in Victorian England, Colonialism, Genocide, Native title, Racial and Religious prejudice... etc. All wrapped in a very satisfying yarn. Honourable depiction of Islam, especially. Mashallah! Well done, Craig.

Perfect timing. The cat is put away, and I can play with my mouse while the cat is away. And it's a dark and stormy night.

Great story! Thank you, and thank you for the historic accuracy and for not caricaturing the Jesuits. I can't believe how much you absorbed in just one year of living here! Cheers from Buenos Aires! (Yes: my name is German. No: my father was NOT a nazi) 😄

"Agnes Dei, Dona nobis pacem"...Amen!! Imho, Latin, and French are the two most beautiful languages on earth. I'm more familiar with Latin because of my work in the Fire Service/ Legal world. I'm now retired/disabled, but I wish I had taken Latin in my younger days.

Did Latin up to O level. Lot of canings. Why do paedophile sadists, like to teach ancient languages. Beats me, as they did.

2:48:46 They’re stopping to have a little chat about something utterly unnecessary after hearing sounds of a girl being tortured and gunshots?!? With ALL the time they had during the ride to the cottage, they didn’t work out a plan of attack upon arrival?!? And then even after Omar took out the two mercenary guards, the remaining three of the party just stood back and allowed him to finish the job alone?!? COME ON!! There are several things I’ve taken exception to in this story, but that just about tears it for me. I certainly appreciate the writers efforts to provide ongoing adventures of Holmes & Watson for those of us who love them - but with all due respect, perhaps it would be better to just make up new characters who perhaps resemble the duo? There are way too many blunders and inconsistencies for it to actually be them.

I hear ya. I was thinking the same thing when the shots and screams were heard. And even then Holmes and Watson certainly wouldn't have staid back and let someone else go in, no matter how big they were.

I’m not sure but I feel a few Americanisms have crept into his writing. Suspenders, cot and I think the expression ’Full English’ came after the Victorian Era. Also followers of Islam would not eat sausages and bacon as pork is forbidden.

From the accent of the Twickenham Chief Constable it sounds like he must 'moonlight' selling fruit and veg from a barrow somewhere in the east end of London. Otherwise entertaining.
