Exactly! The NFL is a League of Attrition. And strength of QB, not strength of Schedule. Burrow goes down Bengal's are done, LJ8 goes down Ravens are done. If Deshaun Watson goes down the Browns have Wiston and if Russel Wilson goes down the Steelers have Justin Feilds this is why the Steelers will win the division and the Brown will finish second and the Bengals third and the Ravens Last. The Ravens lost too many players especially on the OL and the DC this is Huge!

Your Qb is going to go down at some point in a 20 game season..It's smart to have a relief Qb like a pitcher in baseball .. the rules have changed now you can have two qbs on roster one practice qb who can be used on game day and one on stand by that's 4 QBs you can have on your team . @kennycai8695

"The AFC North is going to be heck." Mate, this division has been heck since its inception, considering the bad blood and accolades between the teams. You want an arms race, this is the place to be. As for who wins this year, it's a tossup between the Bengals and the Ravens. Both teams go as far as their QBs will carry them, so if Lamar Jackson or Joe Burrow ends up on the IR, they can count their seasons over. Yes, both teams have good defensive units (the Bengals one is very underrated), but if the offense is unable to score points, then it means nothing. Both Bengals and Ravens fans (myself in the latter category) are going to pray hard that the injury bug leaves our guys alone. The Browns have a good coach and defensive unit, but I think they will take a step back due to Watson's massive cap hit. Even if he plays well, that $63M cap hit will get in the way of the Browns signing reinforcements, and this was after Watson restructured his contract. If he plays poorly, "LOL Browns" jokes will be back in season. For the Steelers, this team is a major question mark, the definition of a "boom or bust" team. If either Russell Wilson or Justin Fields return to form, the Steelers may be the dark horse candidate to win the division. However, Wilson is 35, and Fields has been flaky at best, so if the Steelers defense loses key players to the IR, this team collapses on itself despite Tomlin's reputation. Without injury concerns, it's a two horse race between the Bengals and Ravens for the crown. The Steelers may pull off a surprise, while I see a little bit of a decline from the Browns, although all four teams are capable of reaching the postseason if fortune favors them.
@PweeBurntPizza

Good assessment but I disagree about the Browns cap space. Our GM has proven to work around that Watson contract. Obviously the bill will come due one day but that day isn't now. They had one of the healthiest rosters heading into this post season, especially the defense, were the best team in the league all year, had a 1st round bye & home field, a top ranked D. and the league MVP at QB. If QB is the most important position in the NFL and yours is the most VALUABLE player, how do you put up 10 points & in the AFCCG??? Aside from that, how do you have a 2-4 playoff record overall? He's been in the league the same amount of time as Josh Allen, yet has even less playoff success as a 2 x MVP? @@Majority999 if lamar played through injury in the 2022 playoffs against the bengals and lost, that shit wouldn't count. burrow playing through injury in BOTH games last season shouldn't count either lmao.😂😂😂so the record is 1-2. the bengals defense played horrible, burrow was only healthy in weeks 5-10, and the bengals had the hardest schedule in the NFL as they played 14 games against a winning record team and 11 games against a playoff team..............yet they still went 9-8!🤔that doesn't sound like an overhyped team at all! also, some of the "key pieces" that they lost needed to go. awuzie has been washed since his season-ending injury against the browns in week 8 of the 2022 season. remember when george pickens cooked him in week 16 last season? awuzie in 2021 wouldn't have let that happen. last season, he was letting guys like noah brown cook him. DJ reader got another quad injury and even when he was healthy, he showed signs of regression. bengals drafted kris jenkins who will be a good replacement for dj reader and they got sheldon rankins who is a good interior pass rusher. tyler boyd also showed signs of regression and they replaced him by drafting jermaine burton who would have been drafted higher if it weren't for his off the field issues. he is one of the biggest steals in the draft. he is an explosive deep threat receiver that can play good as a slot receiver and an outside receiver. the only move I didn't like from the bengals was getting rid of mixon for just a 7th round pick, but they still got chase brown who is being HEAVILY overlooked. and let's forget that zach moss had one of his best career games against the ravens last season so don't sleep on him. all of those "key pieces" that they lost have good replacements for them. and this was without me mentioning that they got mike gesicki, geno stone, vonn bell, trent brown, and amarius mims. long story short, the bengals definitely improved their roster. if anything, they are underhyped. and ravens lost so many "key pieces" in free agency that getting 30 year old derrick henry isn't going to make up for all of those losses. the ravens drafted very good, but let's not act they are far better than every afc north team. their offensive line got weaker which isn't going to help out 30 year derrick henry. their defense is still very good and one of the best in the league, but they aren't going to be like what they was last year. the ravens are still superbowl contenders, but if you think this is the same 13-4 ravens that are rarely trailing on the scoreboard, you're crazy. not to mention, the ravens, browns, and steelers have the 3 hardest schedules in the league meanwhile the bengals have a not easy, but mediocre schedule.

@@TripleG12398 the first game absolutely counts. You could say the second one doesn’t count because he didn’t play the whole game. The Ravens did not get worse. People seem to forget we slammed Houston in the playoffs without Mark Andrews and Keaton Mitchell offensively and without Marlon Humphrey on defense. Yes we lost Patrick Queen but Trenton Simpson is his replacement who looked really good in the one game he played last year. We lost Geno Stone who was our 3rd best safety behind Williams and Hamilton. His 6 interceptions were flukey so don’t expect him to get close to replicating that. 2-3 is more realistic. We improved our secondary even with the loss of Geno Stone by drafting Nate Wiggins and TJ Tampa. Gives us much more versatility and that speed we needed. Losing Clowney is a big loss but thats the only player whose absence I see leaving a noticeable difference on the defense assuming our guys like Oweh and Ojabo don’t step up. As for losing OBJ, Bateman is an incredible route runner and actually led all WRs in yards of separation per route. His only problem since joining the league is he’s struggled to stay healthy and last year he had some bad drops. We know what Zay Flowers can do. Drafted Tez Walker as a deep threat and resigned Nelson Agholar. Likely broke out when Andrews went down and now our 2TE sets are going to be very effective. We let 3 lineman walk because our offensive line was manhandled in the AFC championship game which is why we abandoned the run so quickly. Every except for Linderbaum. Stanley needs to go as well but his contracts too big. We have Vorhees, Cleveland, Faalele, Rosengarten competing for those 3 spots in the offensive line and I feel the offensive line will make or break our season. If the offensive line pans out, the run game is damn near unstoppable with Lamar, Henry and Mitchell. Really hard to win games when you are being dominated in time of possession. Ravens win percentage with Lamar Jackson playing is 62-24 (72%). All that man does is win in the regular season. You should expect the Ravens to win at least 11-12 games per year. They can easily and probably will win 13 games again this year. They dropped 2 games early in the year because they were struggling to adjust to the new offense. They put it all together in the Detroit game and never looked back. I expect them to pick up right where they left off last year.

@@Majority999 "All that man does is win in the regular season" what you just said is literally the problem😂😂😂the ravens are great in the regular season and they don't know how to translate those performances in the playoffs. lamar has played bad in 5 out of his 6 playoff career games. he played well against the texans just to play awful against the chiefs. the ravens are still very good and they will probably win 12 games, but this isn't the same dominant team as last season. the ravens still have their top players on the team, but they had plenty of good players that they lost. also, a problem with the ravens for the past 3 or 4 seasons that doesn't really get mentioned at all is how they keep blowing 4th quarter leads. even last season, in the first 10 games, the ravens trailed for just 28 minutes and 46 seconds. that was the 3rd lowest amount of time trailing in the last 40 years. every team in the top 5 on that list when 10-0 in those games.......except the ravens who went 7-3😂considering the ravens don't have as much depth as they did last year, them blowing 4th quarter leads might happen even more but I guess that is just me

it’s funny how everyone says the Steelers aren’t gonna make it but does everyone forget the Steelers swept the Bengals and Ravens last year with average QB plays and if you don’t think Russ or Fields is better than any of the quarterbacks we had last year you don’t know football Steelers always going to have a top 5 defense and and got a better play caller pretty much got better in every aspect and still say the Steelers aren’t going to win make it make sense Lamar Jackson has a passer rating of 66.8 with 870 yards, 4 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 6 games versus the Steelers in his career Lamar Jackson is 2-4 versus the Steelers in his career. the Cleveland Browns had a record of 26-6-1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2007 and Watson is 0-3 against the Steelers during his career, And The Steelers lead the overall series against the Bengals 69-39 But Since Joe Burrow been he has a 3-2 record against the Steelers in his career. He can be the only real problem to the Steelers if he can stay healthy lol.

Its still crazy to me how good the Browns offense functioned despite the injuries with every QB not named Watson. Hopefully he continues to suck this year so he can get out of the league and the Browns can replace him with anyone else. Those Flacco starts were startlingly good.

Not true he threw 9 interceptions in 6 games while Watson was 5-1 as the starter and flacco was 4-2, yeah he had more yards per game also but the scheme was the problem , the west coast zone run was what let flacco pick it up quickly and throw for 300 yards a game hence the browns let Alex van pelt go and got ken Dorsey to better suit Watson

If Cinci doesn’t improve I think it’s gotta be Baltimore. If the Browns had a qb it might be their division for the taking but Deshaun got paid and that’s all he cared about. His best days are behind him. Tho Burrow is the only qb capable of getting to the Super Bowl. Lamar has proven year after year he’s a regular season qb. Once defenses key in on his weaknesses he has no answers.

You can always make that argument that a team should have won more. I watched almost all of baltimores games and just like you said they could’ve easily won 15 they could’ve easily also just won 9-10 they got a lot of luck breaks. Everyone wants to act like the ravens are the best team in the division and I think the last 4 years have proven the ravens can’t do shit. Cindy isn’t even great and has made it way deeper then the raven. Even in a year where burrow is out of the league they can’t make it to the big game. Are we really sitting here trying to convince ourselves that a way worse defense and the addition of washed ass Henry it going to make them contenders. Especially with burrow back and all the other teams making huge moves. Laughable😂

Last year was really the only year that multiple injuries hit Burrow. His rookie year, torn ACL. Thats a pretty cut and dry one and could happen to anyone on the field. He rehabs, and goes to a SB and a screwjob of an AFC championship game the next two seasons. So no residual effects from the torn ACL. Last year, that “calf strain” was more serious than they let on. I’ve never seen anyone in a walking boot for a muscular calf strain. That was a high ankle sprain based on how Burrow looked on the field, and anyone that’s ever had one will tell you those are a beast to get healed completely from. And then there was the wrist issue, which for a QB, is a season ender. The difference maker in this is the way Jake Browning played at the end of last year. Now that he’s more established, I think that Burrow sits and heals completely should the same thing ever happen.

Looking forward to your NFC North analysis. Vikings fans love the Jefferson signing but hear me out…. They won’t be competitive until 2026 at the earliest which is 2 full seasons away. The Darnold era will be short and mediocre, and then the McCarthy era will begin in ‘25 and history has proven rookie QBs usually do not have immediate success. Jones is a serviceable RB with a bad hamstring and has a porous OL. For Jefferson to be effective- the OL needs to protect and the QB needs the poise to make the read and deliver a strike past the DB(s) covering him. Looking forward to hearing your opinion on this
