The media has a long history of underrating Africa and portraying the continent in a negative light, affecting the diverse people and cultures that call Africa home.
Hello, welcome back to the Channel.
In this video I want to show you a business district in Africa known for its bustling streets, and high-rise buildings, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Abidjan Plateau is home to several side streets and alleyways that are worth exploring. These streets are lined with vendors selling a wide variety of goods, including fresh produce, handmade crafts, and souvenirs.
But you don't see these scenes on TV.
While it is true that the continent faces its fair share of challenges, Africa is also home to incredible beauty, rich history, and vibrant modern lifestyle that is often overlooked.
Abidjan Plateau, is a vibrant business district located in the heart of Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire. One of the main attractions of Abidjan Plateau is its business streets, which are lined with various shops, restaurants, and offices. There are thousands more streets like this and more across the African continent. Wait till you see the other streets I am going to show you.
One of the main issues with Western media coverage of Africa is that it tends to focus on the negative aspects of the continent while ignoring its positive aspects. For example, media coverage of Africa often highlights poverty, famine, and disease, while neglecting to mention the progress being made in areas such as economic development, education, and healthcare. This creates a one-sided and inaccurate picture of the continent that perpetuates negative stereotypes and does a disservice to the people of Africa.
