Great video, Robert! As a person who lived in Alaska for most of the time from 1972 until 2018, I drove the Alaska Highway, Or Cassiar Highway, about thirty times. I have very clear memories of sleeping in my VW van at -36 with a dip in Liard River Hotsprings before going to sleep and again in the morning before heading on toward Anchorage. Lots of fun memories of life and times on the highway. It’s a great trip. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Ate a quick bite at the food truck (burgers, totally worth the stop!) and headed back to Skagway. Can’t wait to follow in your tracks someday and visit Alaska by road!

Every week I am so grateful we found your channel. You have broadened our horizons, especially since qe are both in the late years of retirement and will not get to make an Alaskan trip. The scenery is incredible, juxtaposed with the isolation makes your trip so far ... literally awesome and terrifying. Question: how do you get such clear videos filming through glass, which I assume you are doing when the camera moves fro side to side. Thanks for all you do.

A friend of mine drove that highway in the 1960s and they came to a river that washed out the road. They had to camp on the road for a week while the highway department repaired the washout. Life is very different up there in that it is the only highway to Alaska. :)

Thanks for sharing Robert. That sign forest was awesome. It has a lot of German city/village signs. It even has a sign of former West Germany, before the unification. When you leave a German town, the next town is shown on a sign, but close to the former East German border, you couldn't cross that border because of the Iron Curtain. As a result, the signs didn't show the next town/village and the sign was just yellow.

I have heard lots about Liard Hot Springs. Definitely will need to check out when I get up into that neck of the woods! I noticed that when you placed it below two signs that said Barriere Town Road. Barierre is around 40 miles north of Kamloops, BC which is where most of my family lives! Good choice on sign placement! I have heard Whitehorse is a pretty nice town and glad you got a chance to check out a Real Canadian Superstore also known as Stupidstore in some circles. Yes you are correct that is like Wal-Mart but Superstore is more grocery oriented. Not sure if you got to a Wal-Mart north of the border? Looking forward to seeing you cross into the objective area. It’s been a beautiful journey so far!

Just another great video. The scenery is breathtaking. How did you make out with the tire? Sometimes it is just a one time loss of air from hitting a bad bump. Tire breaks the seal with the rim for a second and a few pounds of air escapes before the bead reseats itself onto the rim again... or sometimes it is a screw or nail that has gotten in the wrong spot. As always, safe travels....
