Alc brought up a really good point there at the end about the Pharell x Timabaland era of superproducers. I feel like back then it was about providing a distinct sound that was radio-ready and automatic for school dance & club-type pop music and now looking at mumble rap it's more of an aesthetic and artist just rides the beat (not all, but most). I like both eras of production, but it's just crazy how producers are capable of shifting the culture from beneath our feet.

I'm so glad Alchemist mentioned Prodigy. I always felt Boldy sounded like a long lost Mobb Deep member.

Al genuinely has to try to disappoint me hes by far the most consistent producer ive listened to. for him to stay as consistent as he has along with the sheer amount of music hes produced in that period is insane its quality in large quantities. the sampling is incredible too hes one of the best samplers if not the best right now. cant wait for the new stuff he puts out.

Been following Al for years now. From Infamous Mobb to Action Bronson, Freddie Gibbs, Griselda. He became better and better . After he found his signature sound it was over. One of the Producer G.O.A.T.s . Salute

We definitely need longer convos, they always end it when it's really starting to get going (which is usually the point where the interviewee realizes how incredibly knowledgable Anthony is)
