I honestly recommend targeting 30fps with some of those harder to run games. I know, people like to act like 30fps causes eye cancer, but honestly, so long as the frametimes are stable, it is perfectly fine for singleplayer games. Just recently finished Spider-Man Remastered at 1080p medium/high without any upscaling, on my 6800H. Played the whole game at 30fps and it was a blast. Just make sure you set the fps limit with an external software (I just use the Radeon Chill feature), and set the fps in game to unlimited. Using the integrated frame limiters in games usually messes up the frametimes.

4:36 "I didn't think Ryzen 7000 would hit the market so soon" That's because it hasn't, it's Zen3, I know you put it on the specs, but don't help AMD pull the wool over people's eyes with these mobile naming schemes, they're very disingenuous. People will think it's Ryzen 7000 so it must be a new chip. Pull up the AMD page for the 7735HS and something like a 6800HS, then flip between them and play spot the difference, barely anything changes. Both zen 3, 8 core, 16 thread, 50mhz between them in boost clock. Same radeon chip, same cache, same TSMC 6nm process node. This is a new chip in name only.

I would not recommend setting it up vertically, due to its use of liquid metal. PS5s, which also use liquid metal, have a known issue that the liquid metal will pool over at one side due to gravity and create gaps where not all the APU is covered by liquid metal, causing overheating and shutdowns. It doesn't mean it will happen for this device, but I wouldn't risk it personally

Foe example the UM690 drops in performance by A LOT after 20 minutes of gaming due to very heavy thermal throttling. Tested myself on out of the box settings. In order to avoid that you need to set TDP to max 34watts and use a third party fan control program to tweak the fans and have the temperature not exceeding 70 C° ......same results found on other channels.

I am interested in whether they fixed the insane CPU voltage at 4.75GHz. The voltage curve is just silly for my Ryzen 7 6800H (and I can't undervolt it, whereas it's possible with the HS series, so the end-user may extract better value and performance out of a Ryzen 7 7735HS compared to Ryzen 7 6800H or maybe even Ryzen 7 6800HS). I'm talking about up to 1.460V at 4.75GHz. This is like a factory extreme overclock that will kill the CPU in around 2 years if it's actively used like that. So, because I intend to use my laptop for at least 5 years, and to have it working for more than 10 years, I have reduced the maximum single-core CPU clock to 4.25GHz for much better thermals and a quieter system and only 1.32V sustained voltage. Zen 3+ is still too fast, so I will only be able to utilize extra performance once the laptop actually becomes noticeably slower.

These mini PC's are getting amazing. How are they with video rendering? Are they a better option than M1 and M2 mac minis? Blessings

They all have 4K codecs. But we need a true 7000-series part (7840) to see the greatly improved RDNA3 4k h.265 hardware encoder to compete with NVENC! To make streaming on twitch work well! AMD really blew it in the past ceding the entire streaming market to Nvidia because of their terrible codecs ...

I really wanted to see reviews of ryzen 7 7840HS with radeon 780m, this igpu is so strong that it’s able to compete with rx570. A few months later, I’ll replace my HP pavilion with i7 1165g7 with the ideapad 5 pro 14 inch with ryzen 7840HS

You are reusing the benchmark footage from the Beelink SER6. I know it's the same APU, but the cooling and TDP will affect results. Can you retest these side-by-side? I'm trying to pick one.

Good review but pls more metrics on the fan. Some Minis sounds like a hairdryer. It would help to have reviews of the noise level and audio samples at idle and full load.

Do NOT waste your money on faster RAM. All these videos with 5000, 5200, 5400, and 5600Mhz RAM is total bs. Even though this isn't Zen4 where the "sweet spot" is 6000Mhz for DDR5 on Zen4. 4800Mhz is the annoyingly though a working, (mostly) stable, (mostly) no red, blue, black or random power downs or freezing in both W10/11 and Linux. Do not waste cash in faster RAM. You will be paying more, a lot more for a lot of headaches. I like and always watch your content dude, but you are going to have to be either more honest or careful about certain claims and not tacitly mention 4800Mhz RAM months after the fact. You cost me €129 extra on high end RAM which only works when down clocked to 4800Mhz. Google UM690 red or blue or black screen. Not sure if it's the CPU fabric or the APU. But its very real.
