I like how Andrew portayes this mixture of anxiety, fear and anger all in one scene. He is anxious to find Uncle Ben´s killer, he is afraid of what he might do to the killer and he is angry because deep inside he knows that vengeance will not make the pain go away. The bruises, the popped blood vessels in the left eye only emphasize how he stops caring about himself, and briefly so even aunt May. The dark lighting in the kitchen give off a feeling of abandonment, especially with aunt May just sitting there alone at the table, ready to cry or burst out at any given moment. Overall an extremely very well done scene, one of the best in this ovie.

Whenever I see this scene, it harkens back to eye for an eye (1996) for me. Sally Field is an exceptional actress! The way she pulls off a concerned maternal figure at the end of her ropes is more than admirable. Rosemary Harris is my favorite aunt may, but this version is nothing to sneeze at. I wish we could've seen peter go out with a blaze of glory in a TASM 3. Imagine the death of ultimate spider-man with this cast? Shailene Woodley as MJ? It wouldn't be a one to one recreation, but man, what I'd give to see that.
