CLARIFICATION: At around 07:00, Justin misspeaks. THC has an inhibitory effect on the POMC neuron, causing LESS GABA (the neurotransmitter being secreted) to be released. The CB1 receptor is indeed stimulated, but in his excitement he made it seem as though an excitatory signal is being sent through the POMC neuron. Oh Justin.... This is a very great video!! Just one correction: both of them are psycoactive (can made effects into your body) but just THC is psycotropic (can change the perception from reallity - but no Psycodellic). It's wonderfull to see this kind of videos. Maybe an idea for the next videos can be the medicinal use of Marihuana in very important areas like oncotherapy, annsiety, fibromyalgia, anorexia, antiinflamatory effects, regulation of the immune system, nausea and pain control, insomnia, Antiepileptic and Neuroprotective effects among other benefits. I'm a medical student and I really appreciate your work making these videos, Regards from Chile !!!🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱

I can tell you that long term use is wonderful, Lol. Started at 14 and now 61. The strains are powerful as hell now. I was smoking it back when it was called ditch weed or alcapolca gold. I feel fabulously 45, aside from a few aches and pains of natural body aging. Health is good. Eyesight; last year they put a hole in each of my eyes just outside the color part due to hypertension. My eyesight is good for my age but has improved since my eye pressure has been reduced. I graduated high school 5th in my class at age 17, had a great career (retired at 56), raised a family as a single parent and now a Grandmother. I have always had munchies. To combat that - drink warm tea or lemon water and munch on low calorie things like sugar free jello, salad, etc. - then you can eat until you can't. Stay away from sugary sweet things, it's not easy, even I have to have a spoonful of honey that magically turns into 4 spoonfuls, Lol.. Not sure if anyone will read this or no - but if you do and got this far .. don't let anyone tell you you will fail if you partake, you won't. Don't let anyone tell you it will affect you weird or harmful when you grow older, it doesn't. Don't let anyone tell you that you won't amount to much because you partake, because you will develop wonderful creative skills that allow you to cope in the harshest of situations you will run into, in your lifetime. Eat organic foods when you can, drink clean water always, don't eat too much meat, live and let live (others have the same rights you do), don't get uptight over those little things - You will go far. As a 48 year partaker - if it is meant for your body to continue using, your body will tell you and you will know if it's for you, but keep in mind, it can become a long term medicine. *Cheers*

I think one of the most interesting thing about the endocannabinoid system is that is ubiquitous: we are finding proof of cannabinoids modulating the immune system, the digestive and secretory ones, among all the others we know about. Fitocannabinoids are so fascinating especially for their adaptability and evolution coherent with the progression of the various apparatus and system of mammals. And so I really hope cannabinoids will get to be used more in treating a large plethora of diseases and conditions, also giving us other perspective of the neuromodulation they are involved in. @@JenNagleInk You're absolutely correct. "Life" is weird! We are actually just part of some unexplainable mechanism. We all have our roles, almost as if characters in a play. We dress in costumes and act it out - police officers, teachers, store clerks, restaurant workers, custodians, low-lifes and on, and on. It's almost like the inner workings of a clock. Each and every one of us have our part to make the system work, but there is no stopping it. It just goes on and on. I tell people: "when you are talking to someone about the past, as in reminiscing, what are you telling? A story, right? Well that is *EXACTLY* what we are doing. We are mearly acting out a story, in which are all pages and chapters. We have our entrances and exits through a page(day). Once we pass, our storyline in the Book of Life is over and done with." But I also thought, it(the system) quite possibly does come to an end at some point, but it recurs once again, and we relive our lives again and again, which is the reasoning we have the epiphany of Deja Vu. Every system will have glitches at some point of its usage, and Life is no different. It is a glitch which allows us for that fraction of a second or few seconds, that we have done that particular activity(or scene) once before and it feels absolutely surreal. That, is one glitch in the system. I first realized this when I was on Psychedelic Mushrooms about 35 years ago. It literally took away the filter which blinds us from not seeing what Life truly is. There is no free-will, although we think there is. You may say: "Of course there is free-will! If I want to stop doing something, I do it. If I want to change my ways, I can." But that is the illusion of free-will which is extremely hard to see beyond. We go to sleep, wake up, get out of bed, and do almost the same routines over and over, again, with subtle changes. Birthdays, holidays, times of the season, showering, brushing teeth, drinking fluid, consuming food, so on and so forth. I truly believe our destinity is written prior to our birth, or lineage, if you will. We were meant to be birthed by those whom conceived us. And our role in life is predetermined during the growth of our being in the womb. Almost as if our brain is a preprogrammed processor. It wheels us through our role and we're mearly site seeing and experiencing it. Some role spans are short, and some are long. Some characters are more prominate than others, and some of us are extras, but still play an integral role in this Play. Take 2 separate individuals who are involved in a vehicle accident for an example. They are born, go through their upbringing and all that comes with it. Up to the day of the accident, they both wake up, do their routines and are off on their path. But their paths were meant to intersect with one another from the get go. Every decision they made up to that point, was meant for those two to have that event. Now comes the others in the scene. The people who stopped to help, the officers to arrive on the scene, to the paramedics who assist etc. All those involved were also predetermined with all they have done in their life's story to be that role during that particular scene. Every event, every act is all meant to be. We have absolutely no control of it. That is the genuine meaning of what we are in of Life. Take a "REAL" look through your eyes and see what you do, what we are in, after you read this. It is very odd and strange like we have no control of what we are doing and have to go along with what our mind forces us to act upon. But it all gets back to normal as if Life isn't odd after all, because we get entranced back into the system. It's weird as shit to try and think that, but it is a very unusual, yet remarkable fact! (P. S. - Look up William Shakespeare's - The Seven Stages of Man. This experience has never fled my knowing, and when the internet started becoming more readily available, I typed in my experience of what I thought Life is as the narrative above, and came upon - The Seven Stages of Man. I was shocked to read such, for it was exactly what I experienced when the "filter" was removed. A quote from Shakespeare hit me like a ton of bricks of revelation! *"All the world's a stage, and the men and women are mearly players.")*

The difference between saliva and Indica are the ratios of the cannabinoids that they contain. This is what causes the difference in perceived effects between the two. Hi there Bill. Myself I'm diagnosed with severe depression since 10 years ago. Myself I've been looking up for shock therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation in the brain. It would seem that shock therapy might (strong conditional here) work on some patients (strong stress on some) with severe depression, but the success rates vary depending on a bunch of circumstances. It is not guaranteed, and only recommended as a "last ditch" ressource when all other treatments have failed or made very little progress. It's done in several sessions (varying from 3 to 12) with very, very mild electroshocks (vey low voltage) aimed at very specific areas of your brain. It can only be done at medical facilities by doctors and clinicians, in order to guarantee a maximum of scientific reassurance to desperate patients, who otherwise may fall for charlatans promising magic cures (magic cures do NOT exist). These very mild electroshocks aim 2 things: blocking the connections between neuroreceptors in areas of your brain responsible for recurrent negative though patterns (ruminations) and stimulating connections between neuroreceptors in other areas of your brain responsible for "positive thinking", so to speak; so that it is expected (but in NO way guaranteed) that, on the one hand, your depression will have taken a severe blow and, on the other hand, your brain will be more receptive to traditional treatments (antidepressants + talk therapy + gym & healthy diet, sleep and lifestyle changes + all the other changes need in your life so you can start leaving depression behind you or, at the very least, make it as manageable as having diabetes and thus carrying around your insuline "just in case"). As for transcranial magnetic stimulation, I've found some companies that seem serious & "medical" but haven't tested their products. However, my feeling & understanding is to rather NOT waste our money, time, hopes & efforts into that yet, as all their "medical proof" is, at the moment, very limited, not replicated, and under some controversy in different ways. Ultimately, it isn't much different from electroshock, and my take is that it's 1000 times preferable to have the real deal done under strict medical supervision than to risk "frying up your brain". Not that it will literally fry up your brain, but the slightest micromillimeter deviation may be stimulating the wrong areas of your brain, so risking no cure at all. However, hopefully some other fellow people with severe depression who have been using those transcranial magnetic stimulation devices might, eventually, leave their comments here and, hopefully, say how it worked well for them, at least to some extent. I myself have been using something similar, called the Muse headband, which is aimed at facilitating a calmer state of mind trough a combination of other things, including breathing exercises. I must say it hasn't done any improvements in me; but reports of thousands of users worldwide are satisfactory to very satisfactory. Again, is a similar, but DIFFERENT, kind of device. There's a 3rd way to fight severe, persistent depression, but which is only through very confidential and limited medical trials at the moment, and that's a microdose of psilocybin. It's just very few clinics in the USA, and still less in the UK, France and other countries. It seems to work very well for patients with severe, persistent depression; so if anybody has been diagnosed with depression for 5 years, sorry to say they don't qualify yet as "persistent, severe depression". But we can all try our chances and see whether or not we could, eventually, be admitted into the programs IF we pass the different batteries of tests. All in all, although mental disorders can really fuck up very hard our lives and consequently impact dramatically the lives of those around us, the extent and frequency at which we all, 100% of human population may have several episodes of some mental disorder in our lives (depression being quite common, or some form of fixation or compulsive disorder, or whatever), means that it shouldn't be such a big stigma. The more we talk about, the more "normalized" it will be, and the more understanding and tolerant our societies will be. I like to think that mental disorders, if taken care of properly (therapy + medical treatments + a lot of changes in our lifestyles + a lot of changes in our ways of looking at things + a lot of changes at the way we react to things, situations, people, "triggers") could, eventually, be very manageable (they will never go entirely away, but their impact could be greatly diminished), and become nothing more than "a passing nuisance" just like menstrual cycles for women (I'm over generalizing of course). I wish you all the best in your struggles against your ailments, you're very brave to be open about them. Keep training in fighting them hard, don't run out of breath in this life-long marathon, you CAN actually lower their impact in your life, which is already a huge gain!

@@x2y3a1j5 I replied this for someone else, but it's for anyone, you don't need any medication or medical therapy. You create your depression, I mean the thing that you think you are, your mind and identity, but they actually aren't you, believing that they are is a mistake enough to generate unbearable friction, anxiety, stress, depression. Your personality, your memory, your intellect, your mind and so on they all should serve your well being, the only way to experience depression is to want it and know how to generate it or to have things mixed up real bad, but it's nothing you can't fix by yourself, the opposite, no one can fix it for you. 'My mother is afraid in\of the dark. That is what she thinks. That is not the truth, it is not reality, it's illusionary caused by incompetence and wrong assumptions. I can see her being afraid all the time, the only thing what darkness does is accentuates what is already there. She stops being in distracted mode, she is forced to pay more attention to herself, then she notices, she's afraid, she doesn't know a thing, literally unconscious all the time. That is the root of fear, it's 100% the identity, because one of the main purposes, or the nature of the mind is to move from unconsciousness towards consciousness, when the personality, the identity, which holds the intelligence within, is literally doing the opposite of what it should, then there is friction, it generates fear to try and raise awareness in the identity. Try driving a car without oil and water cooling, friction will demolish it. The same things happen in the living bodies, if your identity is not in alignment with the rest of your body, with the life that you are, then instantly anxiety and then stress are an absolutely un evitable consequence. THC might influence that, darkness or particular things tied to fears, anxieties might influence your state of being, but you go to the source if the pipe breaks, ignore the consequential nonsense, you. will. get. nowhere. I haven't felt repetitively fear, anxiety, stress or suffering for years, absolutely none, just pain, joy, sadness, ecstasy and those kind that benefit my being or I'm happy to have, all I had to do is find the source, your mind should not generate any of things at all, if it does, then you need to look at your identity, your behavior, your beliefs and so on. Fear and anxiety doesn't happen on the street or anywhere else other than in the mind, obviously the mind creates it, matter of fact every single thing that you have ever perceived was created by your mind, it should be natural to learn how to use it, how to be in sync with it. The best way to check yourself or make a first step, is to sit down and think and do nothing except breathing for 5-10 minutes, or pay attention to one single thing besides your breathing for that time without a thought or movement or any activity. The fact that you can't do it means that you are like driving on the highway at 80 miles an hour and don't actually know how to drive? Can you imagine what happens when you are at the wheel while you move at that speed but you can't actually drive? Anxiety, fear? If you get it, and try, then take notice, the mind is like a bowl filled with water, you touch it in any way it becomes disturbed, the point is the art of not touching it, it only takes practice and doing the right thing, everyone should be able to do nothing itself, otherwise everything that you do is consequentially bound to be distorted. Don't believe me! That is the very last thing you should do. Check and try.'

I think a lot of Americans claim they have mental health problems because they are poorly nourished in necessary vitamins and minerals human body needs but can't make. Deficiency can present as diseases of all types and pills will just often make things worse. Then they introduced Fentanyl. What I have learned though this process is that natural remedies work best, hands down. I’m grateful to see the stigma of CBD and cannabis changing and hearing story after story of how lives are improving with the use of plants.
