The nudity doesn't really surprise me. Japan is a different country, different society, with different things that bring shame. Naked kids are a cute, funny anecdote. Bathhouses and such have nakedness as a norm. And families take baths together. It's just different there! I think it's fascinating the ways different humans can see things like that in different ways.

Yeah, I know how nudity bad and always 102% sexual because murrica. Of course, it's perfectly okay for the anthropomorphic animal villagers to not be wearing any pants. They don't have "naughty parts" anyway.😆

@@phoenixmorphix I'd say it exists because of the culture rather than what your claiming. Especially when you look at Japanese folklore. Look at Tanukis, what Tom nook is, they are prominently nude, and they're many Tanukis statues in Japan that just straight up have their overly large male parts exposed. It's just everywhere.

i picked up a copy of the manga and put it on my shelf. Later, i took it out just to look at it and my thumb touched something squishy on the cover. it was a maggot. a singular maggot on the cover of my brand new book. i looked through the entire shelf and everywhere else i could think and found no signs of any more maggots or anything like that. 0/10 this series traumatized me and i didnt even get a chance to read it. -a person who loves everything animal crossing (even the movie)

I really do like the series, I’ve been collecting them since their release. luckily the comic book store in my mall sells them for less than $10 each. I like the inclusion of the creator showing their island at the end of the books cause while it may not be the most exciting content, like you said, it shows that the series is worked on by someone who is a fan of the games, and not just someone paid off to right a bunch of random stories, it makes small details that much more enjoyable like the Halloween costumes and clothing being actually clothing you can wear in the game. I also really love Raymond in this series and the way the smug personality is portrayed. Feels like something the games would have done if the smug personality was in older AC games. I’ve shown this series to my friends and we just found it funny that the word narcissist was even used. The art is also just really good, as nightmare-ish as starving villagers may look I have to appreciate the artist work in it. The gorilla island just speaks for it.

I really wish there could be a Animal Crossing manga that isn’t a childish comedy and instead a calm and melancholic story inspired by the struggle of moving into a new town and having trouble fitting in and connecting with people which is what the inspiration for Animal Crossing was. At least there’s the animated movie which is similar to what I described.

I have all four volumes that are currently available, simply because I love Animal Crossing and collect manga (have several shelves with over 750 volumes total). The nudity and overall inappropriateness is kind of a running theme through a lot of the Nintendo tie-in manga. It's rampant in the Splatoon manga, it's in the Kirby manga, it's in some of the older Pokemon manga as well. It's...odd. I know it's a cultural thing and that Japan views these things differently, but I've read other manga aimed at younger audiences and those types of things typically aren't as prevalent. For whatever reason it's a staple in a lot of Nintendo's manga though. Must just be the way they like to approach comedy for kids or something. I'd say most the Nintendo manga is still worth reading though. Rarely anything too deep or intellectually stimulating, but usually still cute and oddly charming, albeit weird.

It's not really Nintendo thing, it's a Corocoro comic thing, weird comedy and toilet humor is their thing, tamer kids manga are kind of a dying breed because Corocoro has a monopoly on the genre and other magazines have died out, however there are tamer Nintendo manga made by other magazines, there's also a New Horizons shojo manga which didn't last as long as the Corocoro one and most people don't even know about its existence, but there's an English translation done by Shogakukan Asia if you want to check it out.t's very likely that you haven't encountered this kind of stuff in other kodomo because Corocoro manga never get localized outside of tie-ins, most likely because they're not considered kid friendly by American standards, and generally kodomo barely gets localized in the first place.

I have 3 of them. I didn't know there was 6 in total. I screamed when lucky made an appearance. But it's nice to see that they also showed that lucky canonically has a vegetable garden. (I made him one on my island) But, the inside of his home took me by surprise. Finally, I'm surprised how many things didnt get censored in the manga. Normally, they heavily censor manga and anime for America. I guess this means I'll be trying to get the others now. I thought it was finished.

Regarding 0:36 With the exception of FE4, Fire Emblem's story isn't actually that complicated. Pretty typical "liberate the continent from the comedically evil dragon and/or dark wizard" fantasy plot for most of the games. Helps that few of the games are actually connected. Honestly, Splatoon's lore is way deeper. You want a convoluted Nintendo plot that spans multiple games? Well, the Xenoblade series is for you! The first game isn't too hard to comprehend, it was originally meant to be a standalone game so the entire thing is put together and wrapped up nicely, no particularly complex concepts. But it's once you get to 2 when it starts getting complicated. 3, even more so. X, despite being a standalone spinoff, is its own beast of loose ends. Heck, I'm still discovering new lore tidbits scattered throughout the game almost 8 years later. It's actually incredibly intriguing. It's no Kingdom Hearts, but it's definitely something.
@Mr.Feather130

*coughs* the lore in the Kirby Series is more darker than xenoblade’s lore *coughs*
@Fioriole
Жыл бұрын
@@Mr.Feather130 Well, I was talking about complexity, not level of messed-up. But that's still debatable. Kirby lore is mostly "Here's a dark god that can destroy a universe," with probably the most traditionally dark themes being the more recent games with Sectionia's corruption, Haltmann being mind-controlled and completely missing his daughter's return from what he thought was death, or Hyness's corruption and manipulation of the mage sisters. Things like the soul bosses and Zero Two may look scary, but there's not much lore backing them. Xenoblade has themes like prejudice against certain races (X and 2), slavery and human (well, not HUMAN, but same level of sentience) trafficking (2), xenophobia (X and 2), targeted racial genocide (X), human rights violations (3), political corruption (X, 2, 3), child soldiers (3), human experimentation (1 and 2), its own slew of galactic threats, and of course since its a JRPG, highly religious factions committing atrocities (X and 2). X even has its own Shiver Star in the form of the Zaruboggan home world.

A lot of video game manga or manga serialized in Corocoro in general tends to be comedy related, they even made a Fortnite and Minecraft manga that was a comedy. If not that, then it's a shounen battle manga based off of a toy line like Duel Masters.
