The Dickey recommends wetting and refreshing hair every/every other day. Otherwise you will damage your hair because it will get too dry

Where do you get the vitamin e oil and what brand do you use? I heard that vitamin e oil helps with my hair as well but not sure what brand to use. Also with women who has colored hair what conditioner can I use to keep my color in?

Wow yes yes yes subscribed love it beautiful now quick question does the hair have to already have been in a twist out before so the curls pattern can b popped like this or no
@assarbiamillen4823

Thats her natural curl pattern...it needs only moisture to achieve that
@gwenturner1623
3 жыл бұрын
@@assarbiamillen4823 it does not look like a natural curl pattern. Hair does not grow in twists. I thought she had a texturing perm or maybe twists that she never undid.

I am extremely interested in wearing my hair natural, but I am not obtaining the same results. I find it necessary to twist my hair after I apply my products instead of the way I see you ladies do yours. While you are still wetting your hair, what temperature is the water?? Other youtubers say the water should be cold, if that is correct is there another alternative? I love your curls and their movement.
@alexahenry2562

You have already answer my question about the water temperature, thank you.
@lookingforachange

Alexa Henry it depends on your hair porosity. If you have low porosity hair, warm water allows the hair cuticle to open and receive product instead of "sitting" on top of your hair. If you have high porosity hair, it's the opposite, to close the cuticle after product has been added, use cold water to close the cuticle to retain moisture.

New subscriber here! I went along with your instructions and tried this method this afternoon. It's looking great so far, however, with all the conditioner, my hair is still extremely wet. It's 6:45 pm, and I did the wash and go around 1:15 pm. I'm wondering if I did something wrong, or used too much product. Should it still be this wet? And how long does it usually take to dry?! Thanks and I love the video!
@jalissa1989

Yes it's takes a min to dry so I sometimes would sit under a hooded dyer or blow dry it on low heat to help it dry faster.

Why are you all calling this the Anthony dickey method? Natural hair girls have been doing this since 2003 and maybe longer, I know. Are you saying he came out with this method? Not challenging just asking.

Bast Orchid Erzulie Theres a video where he's explaining this method. I don't think very many people know about this method.

True. The women in my family have been doing this since the 50's and when I went natural 10 years ago, i also do this. He did not invent this method, most of us just saw it as common sense growing up but now that people have been making it more complicated to care for natural hair, this method has been forgotten by some. I love that he has brought attention back to this but I hate that he calls it his method when it really isn't. I love his natural hair knowledge though.

Ladee T I don’t think he calls it his method I think other people do because he is helping repopularize it
