Just for my own sake of mind: This is a *reaction* video not a thought out analysis; I was immediately saying what I was thinking / feeling while watching - my opinions on scenes and characters will change as I continue to think deeper about this episode. Some have already changed over night as I’ve talked to other people within the fandom about this episode. I just wanted to clarify as I was thinking about the potential reactions this video could cause.

In "Just Look My Way" Solas talks about Blitz maybe having a wall up but he doesn't know or why. Stolas hasn't asked, it seems, and or Blitz hasn't told him about his past. I agree Blitz should have sympathy, I think most characters in the show just do not know why Blitz is the way he is like the fans do or else they would care more, imo. Dramatic irony is what it feels like the show is going for. Edit: amazing video!! Thank you ❤

Precisely! This show depends heavily on its dramatic irony when it comes to Blitzø, in particular. It’s going to be incredibly interesting to see when the other characters get to peak behind the curtain of his character, I look forward to it immensely. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for your comment. 🖤

So I would say the potential reason why Stolas is mad at the "apology" in the garden scene, is because Blitz said what he needed to say, but isnt "acknowledging" that he means it.

Great reaction! To me this show has always been about Blitzø and I’m totally into that! I’ve always liked how Stolas has been into Blitzø from day one. When others say still listening to find somebody else, I was always like FU. I’m hoping that desire doesn’t fade away, however I do agree that they need to be separated to be able to be stronger together again. I also think that the better than Blitzø guy is actually an incident like Disney’s Princess diaries where he’s just trying to get Stolas in trouble with the public eye. But I also agreed that if Stolas is happy now with that guy, then good for him now get off the show.

On one end of this you have Blitzø, who consistently holds his past over his own head and hates himself for making things worse for everyone - and then responds to attempts at understanding or people who get too close by blatantly lashing out or going off in the most deliberate self-sabotage possible (which we know based on what happened with Verosika - in her first appearance in the first season it was kinda played for laughs, but no; turns out they were dead serious). I don't condone him hiding behind his trauma as an excuse, though - there's a point where it stops being excusable and just ends up being gratuitous petty d~~~ishness (some clearly intentional and some not, but the point stands). BUT, I will also be fair and say that his confusion over what Stolas was doing in the previous episode is very much warranted - from his perspective, their relationship has always been a screwy transaction; "favors for favors", in Stolas's own words. Recall that Blitzø's father accepted a bribe of basically garbage from Paimon to have Blitzø be Stolas's friend and amuse him for a little while, and imps are already basically Hell's bottom rung to begin with in terms of social class on top of all the crap he was already surrounded with. Don't mistake all of that as me siding with Stolas, though. People apparently get mad when he's called out as not being innocent in this either, but... No, he absolutely isn't. While Blitzø has a lot of reasons for being confused here, the biggest one aside from poor communication is that their relationship was exactly what he viewed it as. And funnily enough, near the end here you pointed out that Stolas was sort of unintentionally hitting all the buttons for what Blitzø was afraid of having confirmed in his mind... Well, he's done that A LOT. He was sort of ranting when he asked the "When have I ever" out of nowhere about looking down on Blitzø and treating him as a lower plaything, but yeah - he has very much done so on multiple occasions or said things to make Blitzø feel that - most likely unintentionally, but still. He also has a tendency to grip even a casual coversation by the horns and completely steer it whilst not doing much listening, which we saw a LOT of in the previous episode; of course, it's a little hard to hold that against him because of who he is. When he speaks, Hell listens. He's just sort of used to it and doesn't have a proper understanding of one-on-one talk. As for his motivations, well... I will be fair and say it's not _completely_ Stolas's fault that he thinks the way he does when it comes to relationships. The only joys he has in his life are Blitzø (even though that bridge is kind of rickety right now, notice that while he was on-the-spot defending himself he said "like" instead of going into past tense; small detail, but a part of him still cares even if it doesn't want to) and Octavia... who the show criminally underutilizes and who seems to be astoundingly oblivious to her dad's troubles. He has never been "wanted" by anyone else in any capacity in his life; certainly not by Stella who was absolutely horrible to him even before the divorce, and even Paimon could hardly even be bothered to remember his own heir's name. And then he's sort of lived having his whole life and responsibilities dictated for him; no social freedom whatsoever and pretty much his whole understanding of romance comes from rom-coms and books I can only assume to be for, a, uh... "cultured" demographic. He doesn't know how to communicate outside his own bracket, and as far as I can tell he's never really taken initiative in anything that hasn't involved his Grimoire; he's had to spurred into action by something else happening that involved Blitzø or Octavia. The biggest problem... is that he seems reluctant to take any actual steps himself, and that includes making the effort to learn (which they are BOTH guilty of not doing). The end result is that neither of the two truly understands the other, both have unintentionally hurt the other in a way that hit really deep, and neither of them realized that. Blitzø there may yet be hope for, IF he can commit to changing and pull his act together. Stolas... I hate to say it, but in a realistic setting I don't think Stolas has the social awareness to make a relationship like theirs work. As nice as a true, happy romance sounds, it just seems like some people weren't meant to pursue one, and it's looking to me like Stolas is one of them. It's possible they could at least remain friends and (if they're both exceptionally lucky) each find someone new who they can empathize with and share mutual respect and genuine care for. For Blitzø that might have been Verosika at a point in time, but that bridge has already been burned to a crisp (even if she evidently cares enough to be the bigger person and want to help him change, she's made it pretty clear she still hates his guts), so he'd have to explore well away from that avenue. For Stolas... I honestly have no clue. I don't foresee his fling with the big guy in this episode going anywhere good. Maybe if he's super-lucky he'll meet another noble demon of some sort who doesn't view him as a walking money-bag and is different enough to give him a good glimpse at what he didn't have in life, but even then he'd have to step out of his comfort zone and take SOME initiative. True, happy, healthy romances are built on mutual understanding, respect and love, and they're usually equal. What Stolas and Blitzø have is NONE of that; a fact Blitzø is aware of (albeit for the wrong reasons) and Stolas tragically isn't. In a realistic setting I don't think them together could ever work; they just can not get on the same wavelength and don't seem to actually care to learn. The only things they hold in common are father issues (which is the case for LITERALLY EVERYONE in the VizieVerse that isn't Millie) and a skewed understanding of how relationships work. The odds of that actually going anywhere are near to zero. Oh, and about Blitzø's "This is hell, everyone sucks" quip? Some are saying he has a point... Raise your pitchforks and torches at me if you must, but no. He really doesn't, and I'm not sorry for saying it. There have already been MANY proven contradictions to that, and it also happens to be the same excuse the Vees use to justify their crap in Hazbin Hotel. Even Viviziepop has outright said that this depiction of Hell mostly boils down to being "Earth, but sorta crappier". Heck, most of the angels in HB are infinitely worse people than most of Hell's apparent inhabitants.

Your comment? *Chef's kiss* I think one huge thing people forget about when discussing the dynamic between Blitzø and Stolas is the deep-rooted power imbalance from classism because of Blitzø being an Imp - the lowest of the low in everyone's eyes, quite literally below even Sinners - and Stolas being a Goetic Prince - a status above even Overlords - which I think makes most of the discourse surrounding their relationship in the fandom pointless. You simply cannot talk about their dynamic without mentioning classism, yet that's the majority of conversations I've seen. I dare not say this too often nor too openly because the fandom can be ruthless, but I would agree that what Stolas and Blitzø have is not something I think a healthy relationship can blossom from. I'm aware this series is simply a shorter show posted on KZitem and would definitely benefit from that not being the case because of the lack of deep-diving into their dynamic, the show doesn't give us any reason to believe they make a good couple; there simply isn't enough "filler episodes" showing the actual chemistry between the two characters. Blitzø and Stolas don't have anything in common other than, as you stated, father issues and that's quite literally it, which I think was a massive oversight on the writers' side of things and is something I fear won't be fixed because the show is thriving as is and people are quick to ship queer characters out of desperation for representation without there needing to be much chemistry between said-characters.

The part about how people care bc they throw the hate party is very relevant. They had to have cared about him to grow hatred towards him and be this mad at him. If they never cared they would have never been upset or gone this far because of how he hurt them.

Relevancy wasn’t the correct word, I’ll admit to that. I do think though that that scene was a good example of more miscommunication (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing as that’s how it was supposed to come across), because Stolas’s comment didn’t help Blitzø understand that he’s been cared for by people. Equating someone hating you present time isn’t the best way to communicate that people care to someone as abused as Blitzø. It was a phenomenal scene that showed miscommunication that will ideally be smoothed out in future episodes once Blitzø and Stolas both acknowledge their poor actions/statements to one another.

I don't know what the general fan consensus is, but me personally? I don't care if Blitz and Stolas ever get back together. I just want them to be happy and healthy. If they can't do that as a couple, then I hope they stay broken up and move on. My biggest worry about the new guy he's hooking up with is that I don't like the odds of this kind of rebound relationship working out for him.

Of course they don't understand him. As Blitz said, they all live in hell, and of course they are all a bit of an asshole. If they understood the Blitz and everyone would be happy and vomit rainbows, then why is it hell? That's the point. For example, It wouldn’t fit into selfcentered Verosika nature, Verosika only thinks about this whole situation: 1. She is a fool for daring to admit her love for Blitz, because for the first time in her life she opened up to someone. That is, after Blitz dumped her, she blamed herself for it, just like Blitz, but she didn’t understand it. She thought that Blitz was just behaving this way with everyone, which is logical, since love is also far away for her, since she is a succubus and Asmodeus’ politics, which affects everyone, although Asmodeus himself later turned out to be in love. 2. By throwing a party, she only proved to herself that Blitz behaves like this with everyone. And now her goal is to help others who blame themselves pass the trauma, since she also blames herself, this is her therapy mechanism. Like, Blitz isn't the center of the universe, why shouldn't she take care of herself first? In the case of Stolas, he himself asks if he did wrong in relation to Blitz, and Verosika and Vortex convince him that "Blitz motherfucker". Verosika simply believes that she is helping Stolas survive what she experienced and move on. For her, Stolas is another case of Blitz’s behavior. But she doesn't think Blitz is a complete, unredeemable scumbag. Because she blames herself for the relationship too, but not for the reason you might want. She blames herself for believing what happened to her and Blitz everything could be serious in love. She blames herself for taking this step towards the Blitz. She blames herself for the fact that she should have realized that Blitz would not accept her love. Therefore, she considers herself a bad person when interacting with Blitz, because she should have understood that Blitz is not like that and being angry with him is the same as being angry in the Law of Nature, for example gravity. Like, why get angry at an apple that fell from a tree? If we continue this metaphor, then Verosika simply helps everyone stop blaming themselves for sitting under the apple tree and move on. She tells the apple tree to stop being an apple tree and become a raspberry bush, although logically she would rather tell the farmer to plant a raspberry bush. In short, if the situation were ideal. That is, everyone understands each other, etc. Everyone who was harmed by the apple tree would help the farmer plant the raspberry bush. I'm not sure that Blitz will be alone in his journey, he has his team, which symbolically saved him in the previous episode, when Stolas "dismissed" Blitz. And I think that there will be a situation when Stolas understands the Blitz and joins in planting the raspberry bush. Just not right away, of course. Not everyone here is a completely selfless(selfless here in a bad sense. I mean that different thinking is also toxic. You don't have to stay and endure or be your partner's therapist. This is an even worse lesson, since people like Blitz could be even worse. And no matter what traumas they have, it’s better not to completely expose yourself and cripple yourself) Mary Sue
