Fascinating how this sexy thin computer was as powerful as the Mac IIci from just 4 years prior (which was only just discontinued right as the LC III was released), yet was introduced at only a 7th of the IIci's initial cost (around $1.3k vs around $9k). Just goes to show how quickly technology evolved and cheapened, even back then.

7:40 You zoomed in on the VLSI and not the 030 processor, which is directly next to the PDS and right above the 2 long ROM chips. As a kid, I also used to think that VLSI was the processor too because in my mind, 'more pins, must be the CPU.'

I remember we had a few of these around in middle school, although they were very outdated by then, I liked how thin they were. Ours were LCIII+. I don’t remember them being used but one time at the end of the year for games. A guy that worked in school IT even gave me a LC 475, I wish I’d kept it.

I used to know someone who had a Mac classic, but I have always wanted try one of the 68K color systems. Ironically every Mac I have had has had a different CPU architecture (I flitted from Apple to windows) First was the (Obsolete when I got it) iMac G3 600MHZ (Summer 2001 model), then I went back to windows for quite a while (2011 I think) until I got a Mac Mini I5 Sandy Bridge, I then went back to windows at 2016. Now I have another Mac Mini with the M1.

I didn't get a mac till 2015, never actually heard of them until the Ipod came out. My main computer is still my 2010 imac, this video was made on lol. Trying to save up for a new one, but that's gonna take a while.

Isn't it though? Ever since I was in middle school (1995-1999), and these machines were still relevant, I always thought - and still believe - they are one of the most beautifully designed computers EVER made. You have the wrong monitor though - you need the lower-end model that integrates well with the design.

Yes, I did see your video you did on it when you released it, but I did not have one at the time. It does have trouble starting when it's not been used a while though, so I think the hard drive is having trouble. Yep, so compact compared to other stuff on the market at the time. I do also have that monitor but this was the one that came with it, so thought to use that.

@@RetroGamerVX Damn.... I thought you did a video about a 1200 some years ago. Well. You need an Amiga 1200 then. They are cheaper from UK than Germany these days. And I can really recommend TF-1230 or Tsunami-1230 accelerators. They might only be 99.9 percent compatible, but that is only on the gaming front and easy to sacrifice when you get an accelerator at 1/5 the price of the old Blizzards.
