I give daily by smiling to everyone, saying hello to everyone, saying thank you to the busdriver when I come on the bus and go off the bus, I give love to my kids and life partner daily, I see in everyone God and treat everyone like that who is crossing my path daily. I give to the animals. Thank you for your knowledge. I have your book for which I am very thankful. Much love. xx

@rajani chillal rc the name of the book is The Buddhist Cleanse: The 1-Day Spiritual Detox by Nick Keomahavong. "Detox Your Life Like a Monk in 24 Hours" As a Buddhist monk and psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, Nick Keomahavong has packaged ancient wisdom into a simple, relatable, and-above all-practical guide to shift your life in 24 hours. Whether you are looking to deepen your existing spiritual practice, break out of the monotony of a stale, daily routine, or undergo a full-on life-reset, the Buddhist Cleanse will help you instigate the change you seek. Flush your old patterns. Slow down for 24 hours. Discover balance. Make space for the life you want to live but can’t find time for. Based on a Buddhist framework that remains as relevant and effective today as it was when it was first practiced 2,500+ years ago, the 1-Day Spiritual Detox will walk you through the steps to jumpstart the process of change in your life. But don't take our word for it, come try it and see for yourself.

I turned on KZitem to listen to something nice as i do the dishes after dinner. I don’t know how this video came to me but I somehow it did. Not even a minute after I started to listen, I stopped doing the dishes and sat down where I meditate. And just continued to listen sitting. Your voice and words of wisdoms touched me to deep. As I have experience the same desperation in hardship of life three years ago. When I was in mental hospital, a lady who shared the room with me game me “ the teaching of Buddha”, the exact same book my grandmother gave me as a parting gift when I left japan to study in California. I didn’t have a clear understanding of how I have reached to this place of love and peace. But you did help me realize that all the small things I have been giving to the people around me and those I am blessed to have encountered, has always given me indescribable joy and good feeling actually have helped my meditation. I sat in awe after I finished watching and joined my palms in gratitude. 🙏 thank you.

After watching this video, I have decided to give more as I am in a better position to do so now. My wife and I also always buy food or flowers from the sellers who wait at traffic lights in Thailand.

Personally I try to help people...whether it's stopping to help someone change a flat tire, give someone walking in the rain a ride, give a homeless person some food, etc. I feel like giving the right thing at the right time is important....such as a hungry person food or a stranded person on the side of the road help. I want to visit the monastery in Scotland as soon as Covid is over l have read the book about how it came to be have you been and have you ever met Youney Mingur

Thank you for sharing this. I love how your mother reminded you about the source of your suffering and said to allow the karmic retribution to take place, but to then increase the good you do in your life. Sounds like you have a very loving, wise mother. I also appreciated your analogy of the glass of salt being very salty, but once you pour it into ever increasing containers and dilute it with more and more water, the salt becomes imperceptible. That's what we must do in life... In gassho... Sadhu....

Hello good morning. how r are you doing? Right now i just imagine how pure the water is. And i just got back to work and again i find myself lost to a place that is not helping me to become more stable in mind and spirit. I practice my focus and my physical strength. What should i do to be more at ease and stable facing this people surrounding every single day. I develope the personality to react again i need to practice to relax. By the way thank you for a great content. I do practice being generous. Again thank you very much.

Thank you so much. And yes these kinds of scenarios are common. When it happens, we need to just keep training ourselves to bring our minds back to our center. Many times our awareness is away from us, so gently 1. catch your self (be aware of what is happening when it is happening) and then 2. bring our mind back to the center. Just keep repeating this process. I hope that helps :)

How can we always give when the next person doesn’t care for instance in American culture its always me and self centric approach. Everything is associated and linked with money. Even the basic thing like food is linked with money. How to give and let it go when you know the person you are dealing with will not change even if u do the biggest thing for them
@XandriaRavenheart

Maybe don't expect them to change. It's up to them whether they change or not, it's up to you to change yourself. So you can give to them freely, whether they show gratitude to you or not is up to them. I think it's called giving with Grace, without expecting anything in return.

Yes exactly what I was thinking. In the American society, A person giving freely will most likely encounter some users in their lifetime. The social system is already set up for you to take care of yourself by working to receive money. Hence why these monks gave up on society altogether.

Just do what springs from the heart -what the other person does is not your business, in a way. At the same time, “don’t feed pearls to swine”. Rejection may be a way of life to show you your efforts are better directed elsewhere. 🤗

Dear Venerable Nick, Your videos have been very valuable and helpful, including this one which shows me how to give properly. I would like to ask for myself and also for other viewers who are interested in giving, is there a method for people to give to your monastery? I live in the US. Sincerely yours, Ben

I'm so grateful to have found your channel, Nick! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and educating us about your experience. My question is, how does a Buddhist monk run a KZitem channel? I am aware you already had an existing channel and following before this phase of your journey, but it seems unlikely you would have undertaken your ordination with all this tech equipment--material possessions--in tow. Where did you get the recording and editing equipment? Do you work with other monks on this project? How does this type of work fit into your lifestyle? Thank you, peace and love!
