I need to learn this art a bit. Though I'm afraid of the thing that, if I keep non-reacting, at what point am I actually being in denial of my inner feelings and brushing off real issues in the name of 'not reacting'

Perhaps the distinction is between "reacting" and "responding"-an intelligent dispassionate response to "inner feelings" or "real issues" need not be considered a "reaction". (This seems to be basically Spinoza's project.)

The point is not denial but to 'acknowledge' all thoughts and feelings and not react to it, not to catch hold of it and stretch it, not to cling to it and build upon the whole drama of your ego. When you are angry or sad, accept the felling that you are in and don't react on it. SPIRITUALITY is not about Denying anything at all, it is about accepting everything and anything.

@@MRM-9 It's very difficult not to react though. Makes that "bottled up" feeling happen. Isn't reacting, or rather, expressing, part of the acceptance of and living with emotions? I suppose there's a fine line.

@@gashyrawr if it is your very nature to react and not able to witness it from your inner state, you may continue to do so. When the time is ripe the shift will happen on its own. You don't need to force anything upon you.

I use this visual to meditate. Kneel to trace picture children. G is an incomplete whole with one square angle drawn in Earth. O is a whole measure. D is a split whole with two square angles drawn in Earth. Sacrificed, Holy measured. My minds eye sees an endless expanse of flat Earth, adding dimension with a nail to trace.

I have a question. I study this stuff a lot over the years, resting in the presence, and i have my peace. But my issue is i am very low on affect, feeling and reaction already. I almost desire that things got a reaction out of me. I want to express myself, but i am numb. Could i use the practice in the same way to rest with my higher ideas to try and cultivate a sensation? or do you think its fine that i have this low response already.
