KNMA presents 'The Artist’s Studio', an online series where artists discuss their practice and artworks that are part of the museum collection and exhibitions.
In the ninth episode of the Artist’s Studio, we visited Jagannath Panda’s studio in Gurugram. Panda was born in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa in 1970. After completing his BFA and MFA degree in sculpture from BK College of Arts and Crafts, Bhubaneshwar (1991) and MS University, Baroda (1994), he pursued a second master’s degree in sculpture from the Royal College of Art, London in 2002. Panda’s artistic language of paintings, sculptures and installations explores pertinent issues such as rapid urbanisation, dislocation, overcrowding, socio and economic inequalities among others.
