I do wish more information was available. I can only image it’s not easy to trace as colonialism has tried to erase our history. Keep searching and sharing.

😂😂😂 me neither, I think the man was a real strategist, a man who could think ahead of his time & actually used some reverse psychology to convince the ppl. Hey!! Who would dare lift their eyes heavenwards, when an okomfo is jumping up & down, amid all the rassmatazz of his trade, such as throwing white powdery clay during a supposedly tense atmosphere enhh? I wager he had sb on the treetop, lurking in thick branches holding the golden stool that landed on the king's lap? Well, all in all, it bcm the unifying factor tho🤷🏾♀️. Indeed, "Sumsum" of the Asantes, Don't think I can fault him!👌🏾 Hey! Still a miracle, a win-win situation✌🏾✌🏾 ☺️💃 Brill work buddy 👍🏾🤝🏾👏🏽🤜🏽

only Asanti people have been subjugated by other Akans (Dannkyeras).in the history of today's Ghana.yet.everyone claims "Asantis did this to us.Asantis did that to us".which are all lies.only Asantis can legitimately claim they were enslaved.as evidenced in Jamaica and other Caribbean countries

Well written, even the narrator made the same mistakes saying the Ashantis become rich due to slave trade and gold, but it is totally wrong the Ashantis were the ones being enslaved by the Dankyiras to the Fantes and later being sold to the Europeans. And when they later rebel against the Dankyiras and the Fantes. They now see the Ashantis as enemies without telling the truth.

Jamaicans are not Asantes. They are mixed. Most of them are Igbo ancestry. Check their records. The Maroons who were the first enslaved Africans to arrive in Jamaica were Akans and many were also Fanti.

Your history is not accurate. You are misleading people. The Ashanti dynasty are Moshie people who migrated from burkina. They were not part of the original Akans who came from Mali area but went through Sahel, and Nubia before entering Ghana from Ivory Coast to techiman to form Bono kingdom. When they arrived at Bono kingdom from the north nana twi the Bono hene settled them in tanaso, tuobodom, etc near techiman. That is why still the Ashantis lay claim to these towns as theirs. They have historical relevance. It is this area that they became so interested in the Akan culture and got indoctrinated. The Ashanti dynasty picked the same family as the bonohene, which is Oyoko. They move down south and settled in bosomtwe area first. Admittedly, when they got to the current Ashanti region there were spillover of Akans who have already settled there. Then they started fighting the original Akans who have already settled in the current Ashanti to subjugate them in order to establish their kingdom replicating the Bono kingdom. So, some of the real Akans who didn’t want to submit to moshie people rule left and they include Baoule people led by Obaa Poku to settle in Ivory Coast. These things are well grounded in the literature. You are trying to supplant your own version of history.

@@kwasisarfoacheampong5385 ignorant of what? And jealous of what? History? What do I seek to gain or loose to be jealous? History is history and well grounded. I can’t change it no matter how I use social media. Of course people who don’t know and can’t read might sing praises to us but it doesn’t mean that our versions of history is correct. Therefore, what will I get to be jealous? The truth must always lead us.
