Eleni Gavriilaki, MD, PhD, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, presents a study on the association between hemophilia and fracture risk. The systematic review and meta-analysis found that patients with hemophilia have a significantly higher prevalence of fractures compared to control groups, with a prevalence of 5.7% versus 0.9%, respectively. Despite limitations such as small patient numbers and study heterogeneity, this research highlights the need for further investigation into the pathophysiology of increased fracture risk in hemophilia. This interview took place at the 29th Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) in Madrid, Spain.
