That is it: You said what you said to defend the glory of God! Please Dr. Lawson, keep doing just that! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for God’s unfathomable Sovereignty! O thank you for your generous outpouring of your heart in teaching!!! The spirit of John Calvin continues to spread the true Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth! Hallelujah! 🇨🇭

We share or preach the gospel because God commanded; and because we don't know who is the "elect" or not. As we share the gospel, God uses our preaching to change hearts, it is not our preaching, but God's Word, and He does as He pleases.

I don't think God's emotion changes. Certain aspects of Him just gets directed toward certain areas. I believe scripture tells us that He's angry all the time, merciful all the time, loving all the time, wrathful all the time, etc. I believe those aspects can be directed at us, separately... We cam experience His love and mercy.... And we can experience His wrath and judgement. Either way, our perception or experience of those things doesn't negate that He's all of them, all the time. Just because God was showing mercy to David doesn't mean He wasn't tormenting people in hell at the same time. Get what I mean? He's all things holy, all the time.

I think what he means can be expressed in this context: God was not pleased with David when he was committing adultery, but God was pleased with David when he repented. God was not pleased with us before salvation, he was angry at us and the wrath of God was currently on us - then his disposition towards us changed when we were found in Christ. God is present with us in the present tense.

I wish Brother Lawson could answer a ? for me..( I wonder if anyone that goes to Heaven will be surprised that they actually made it)..If they were of the elect but did not know it and ...lets say " died instantly' but did not have assurance of salvation...

Been Redeemed I think if they cried out to the Lord for Salvation right before dying that is a strong possibility. This is just my best-educated guess.

He wouldn't know for sure either, but I have to believe that the pure awe of a face to face encounter with God will overshadow every other feeling or thought.
