i think it helps if we stop saying "left lane is fast right lane is slow" If the autobahn is clear and you're going 200 go to the right! there might be someone coming for your ass with 340 so keep the left lane clear when not overtaking.

I think driving to a speet limit is much more frustrating and tiresome, I find it much more relaxing to just drive at a speed that I feel is safe rather than have to follow an artificially low speed limit and looking at the speedometer.
@tobiaslueck94

The Problem with that is, that most people are overconfident and feel save at speeds where they arent. Also there are quite some external factors to it. There are quite a few different kinds of Materials of roads which behave different in different conditions.

@PointNemo9 Well, we in Germany have way higher CO2 emissions on our highways in comparison to other countries, though. My cruising speed on the Autobahn is usually 150-170. Compare my fuel usage to someone in France for example, where cars are only allowed to go 130km/h. Also, the number of deaths involving high speeds within Germany (of course per capita) is higher than in bordering counties. It is in fact more dangerous to go a lot faster.
@MichelsGarage

I can understand both your views, as I've also stated in the video, driving with a speedlimit can be pretty exhausting. But driving fast can also be exhausting and dangerous, just recently there was an accident near me, where a Porsche was driving to fast and hit some bad bumps in the road, causing him to fly off the street

good explanations. i think driving in the middle - about 110-130 km/h is the most stessfull on the Autobahn. you have fast cars overtaking on the left, behind you are cars pushing (so you have to 30% the time checking your mirrors) and on the right there are trucks wanting to overtake other trucks (you blink to indicate you WANT to change lanes, trucks blink because they ARE changing lanes - many of my close calls was just trucks just changing lanes, no matter what), most relaxing is either flowing with the trucks at 80-100 on the right or speeding at 160+ on the left.

One thing you didn't mention is how important it is to keep distance from the vehicle in front. Coming from Poland I really like driving on the Autobahn, because 99% of people follow the rules you've mentioned. And this is why I disagree with you about driving in the Netherlands, because when everyone drives 100km/h (rediciolous speed in broad daylight), then all of those rules go out the window and at least from my experience it's pure chaos. They drive bumper to bumper keeping less than 1 sec distance, somebody could be driving in your blind spot constantly and you don't see people passing you. The two times I was there driving was super exhausting, dangerous, and very very boring (which is also dangerous). At least now I know why Germans watch out for cars with yellow license plates lol.
@MichelsGarage
Күн бұрын
Yeah I totally forogot while making the video, but thats the one thing I feel uncomfortable about driving in the Netherlands, they always tailgate like crazy! The problem is, you cant even look out for a yellow license plate, because most of the time you'll only be able to see their windshield and roof 😂

"as far as right as possible" I do not know how much laughing emoticons i can place here, but Germans drive always left! It is insane. Example. I am driving on cruise control at about 145 km/hours. I notice a train on the left with cars... 15 cars overtaking a truck/lorry. I am overtaking cars on the right, then when the truck appears, I am going left, for a max of 15 sec, then back to right. All on the cruise control. 4 or 5 km further I still see cars passing me which where on the "train" trying to pass the damn truck. Why? No idea.

Für Pschos wie dich braucht es ein generelles Tempolimit und Radarkontrollen. Es muss ja nicht mal bei den kolportierten 130 km/h liegen. 180 km/h reichen schon für einen Psychofilter.
