There’s no way you will see this but please explain The Macabre Experiment. It’s an analog horror about classic creepypastas being failed experiments from a lab its really f*cking good you would love it been watching you for around a few months now so I’m not the oldest fan but your work is pretty awesome and impressive. Thanks for putting in the work for these videos.

Yeah thats how I feel about the SCP Foundation. It was better when it was a few mysterious interesting entries. Now there its a widespread multiversal universe with all these factions and characters. It lost its original appeal to me.

I call BS on the you don`t. If you know some basics of filming and cutting, a cammera and a like three similar boring hallways are enougth to create an infinite liminal hell on screen.

One thing that really helps sell the sense of dread that Petscop gives off is how it uses liminal spaces, even in the crude environments of a PS1 game. I think the fact that many games of the time had repeating liminal spaces almost as a default due to engine limitations adds to the offness of the nostalgia. It isn't so much that environments repeat themselves (except for the Newmaker Plane) but that they are mostly hallways. It feels like so many areas are just gateways to another area, but so often they do just go to another hallway-like area.

the comments about the backrooms being oversaturated or not good anymore (or "just another SCP, blah") are just like....frustrating? Obviously any lore can get overblown but some of y'all just are spending way too much time online and then complaining about how much content shifts and evolve over time. It's a big-ass internet maybe try going somewhere else for awhile and come back to it...... take a break or something......

Just picking up on a comment that was broken off earlier: the theory that we are all living in a simulation, as suggested in the Matrix movies. Stephen King has also written several books and short stories that contain this concept. C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia deserves some credit for an early example of the concept. I have even had dreams of wandering through the empty rooms of an abandoned mill, looking for an exit that I never find. The fear of being alone pervades our psyches.

The pure absurdity of what liminal spaces has become has ruined the entire thing. It's become SCP lite.

one bit you didn´t mention (probably cause it's too on-yor-face), liminal spaces are lonely. liminal spaces are loneliness made architecture. in classic horror, you fear that you might not be alone. In liminal horror, you fear that you probably are. that's maybe why some people find it scary, and other relaxing. it's the same with loneliness innit

Love the narration work, the voice is like a mix between Fredrick Knurdsen and Ahoy. Very matter-of-factly with the delivery while adding weight to key names and phrases

While I enjoy the idea of liminal spaces and the backrooms, I feel it is soon going to become over-saturated - if it hasn't already - and lose its appeal in the same way creepypastas once did. I am an aspiring film-maker, but I have no money for decent hardware or software, and it angers me how people as young as Kanepixels can easily afford such things to get on the fast track to becoming famous. It is immensely frustrating to know that these things seem forever just beyond my reach.

Hello friend! I’m also a filmmaker and obsessed with Liminal Spaces/Nostalgia, in fact, my latest short film is about that. That being said, I’m also incredibly poor and have my own set of luck that has allowed me to make what I’ve been able to make but I understand so deeply the annoyance one can feel when looking at people who have had a much better/easier start just because of money/emergence of skill due to tutelage. That being said, while the visual aspect of Liminal Spaces are important, the *feeling* of them is what drives people to them. Even if you don’t have an immediate location like an abandoned Toys R Us or some other famous liminal image location around you, you can still certainly evoke the feeling that Liminal Images produce with a film. Tell a story of nostalgia, of wanting to return to a time, add the creepiness of the unknown and even if you don’t have the famous images, you still have the feelings and people will notice and care for what’s being put down. Sure, you won’t have the recognition of being able to call if GLITCHING INTO THE BACKROOMS but you’ll have something better, a serious attempt to discuss and analyze why people enjoy feeling nostalgia and express a human emotion. All of Kane Pixel’s videos have been schlock (despite their expertise), he’s attempting to create lore and a universe without expressing something about fundamental human life. Sorry for rambling but more than anything my friend, just make something that is true and honest and never compare yourself to others but compare it to yourself. I know that’s easier said than done but, it’s a step towards true artistic integrity and while Kane Pixel’s work will go down as taking advantage of a time where people were obsessed with a topic, your transcendent film will live eternally, cause emotions, never die.

The purpose of the backrooms is easy. It's a modern retelling of the Labyrinth, and it has it's own version of the minotaur guarding it.
