Even though I'm convinced that Tech is not truly dead. He had boosters on his pack and he could have possibly been able to reuse his grappler as well. I think he either lost his goggles during the fall or he ditched them to throw the Empire off his trail. Our boy is too smart and resourceful. And for Hemlock to say that is all he could salvage makes me think that there wasn't a body. Or if there was, then he probably took Tech back with him for his experiments. I'm not giving up hope. Unfortunately we have to wait a while before getting answers but man... what a ride it's been. I just started watching The Bad Batch this year and I never would have thought it would be this good. They were using stun on most enemies up until recently (except vehicles, probably because stun wouldn't work on heavy armor, and the slavers because ... slavers). But, I think they're only using stun now on non-combatants like unarmed technicians or when they are trying to rescue prisoners or capture enemies to interrogate. Which is actually a good tactic. Omega's plasma bow apparently doesn't have a stun mode, so the biological child is racking up a fairly high body count. But she seems to have fully committed to mastering the weapon ... so you go with what you have the best chance to hit with.

As someone who gave psychosocial support to refugees in the past I love Saw as a character due too his realistic actions. Although his actions are repetitive, it still applies very much in the real world. Remind you that he was one of the first characters that caused the spark of the Rebellion due too his actions on Onderon. He later parted ways with the Rebellion due too his extreme tactics which cared little for collateral damage. Those tactics also caused him to lose his sister blinding him with anger, rage and regret. His character reminds me of Pain from Naruto whom I wrote about years ago in college. Pain lost so much due too other parties who destroyed his nation, that he ultimately became the very thing he hated. Blinded by those emotions he took out not only high ranking opponents but also civilians. Its similair too the refugees I helped from AF and ME and during my time in those places. I've met people who lost their siblings, parents or friends in U.S. airstrikes and during civil war. They were never compensated for those losses, instead they felt attacked by a foreign entity who either directly attacked them or deliberately set up locals against eachother but they did not seek revenge. That's why I love Saw's character and Star Wars. You're no different from the empire once you act like them. In the real world, we might see ourselves as the rebels but who says that we're not the empire and the real rebels are the people we invaded in the name of democracy and freedom while we all knew that national resources were looted and the wrong parties were given financial support which sparked even more division and terror amongst the local population, even locking up those who say the truth (Assange). Anyone, literally anyone can become a rebel or someone who inflicts extreme terror when they go through injustice inflicted by others, especially foreign entities. Saw is a product of his environment, he might be repetitive but his character is as real as it gets. Steela kept him in line, she saw the bigger picture but once he lost her, those uncontrollable feelings only fed his hunger for extreme tactics. Logic is thrown out of the window and the only thing that matters is inflicting damage irregardless of the civilian casualties. That's the irony of men. We're all sad and angry about Techs death being caused by Saw but in reality, from his perspective, it was the Batch that sabotaged his mission. We as the spectators witnessed Tech's story, his highs and his lows but if we never were introduced to his character, we would've cared less for his death. One of my favorite quotes from Tech "Understanding you does not mean that I agree with you" also applies to Saw. His character is so realistic and I understand him but I'd never agree with his actions.

Theory: Hemlock has a deformity or some sort of condition that affects him, and is visible in his hand. That's why he wears the glove. That is also another one of his motivations in pursuing cloning research under the empire. Maybe that's why he was doing 'unorthodox experiments' at first. With organ cloning being introduced via Pershing in Mandalorian S3, maybe this is another link to that. Organ cloning certainly seems to not be a major thing before the empire, so perhaps this is one of the things going on at Tantiss

When I look at typical Star Wars storytelling in comparison, we're in the same place with the end of season 2 as we were with Empire Strikes Back. The heroes were betrayed by a person they were trying to hide with (Lando=Sid). They have suffered a loss. But the fact that supposedly only the glasses could be recovered makes me suspect that Tech isn't really dead. They have to free a captured friend (Han=Crosshair/Omega). They managed to evoke exactly the same mood in the viewer as after Empire Strikes Back, and they did it really well, because it shows that they managed to connect us to the characters. I'm looking forward to season 3.

I predict that at the end of Season 3, the Bad Batch will cover their escape from Hemlock's facility by setting the lightning beast from Episode 11 loose to run amok. Probably Wrecker. That is all.

I won’t be able to watch this properly until later tonight (power outage and crappy data), but I’ve been looking forward to / dreading this video. I knew a lot of reactors would have strong reactions to this, but I specifically thought “damn, Angela’s gonna have a tough time with this one!” This was some top-tier Star Wars, but damn it was tough!

Saw Gerrera is so blinded by his lust for revenge, he has no issue sacrificing countless bodies, yet all he ever accomplishes is mildly inconvenience Tarkin and his Summit housekeeper. And his incompetence not only fails to destroy Tarkin's base (and eliminate ANY of his targets), he compromised Crosshair and Omega, and cost CF99 a brother.

I was and still am, even days after, devastated by Tech's sacrifice and like most fans in willed total denial!!! Not many "movie deaths" have had such an emotional impact on me... 😭😭😭 Kevin Kiner amazing score really doubled that emotion ... I hate and love it! ;/ Tech is NOT dead... he's NOT, he's NOT, he's NOT, he's NOT! ...🙉

As i was watching Tech run along thd rail with the fighters shooting at him i thought it would make perfect sense to spend so much of the season focusing on Tech, just for him to die, build up that emotional connection Saw is the reason Tech is dead, he just goes around doing things his way & anyone who gets hurt is just collatereal damage Watching you make yourself cry in the intro before anything even happened was like watching two trains on a collision course and nothing being able to stop it. I love Tech but i hope that he didn't survive. Star Wars has a major mortality problem they just can't let a character rest and it cheapens the emotions that you go through when you lose them. As you said Tech had an amazing send off, he went out a hero. I was gutted to lose him but thats life and i don't like how Star Wars constantly whitewashes reality by constantly bringing characters back. Loved the reaction, looking forward to watching S3 with you when it happens.

Tech is displaying all signs for autism. Kaminoans wanted superior engineer and superior soldier, all in one. And they got it. At expence of no social skills. I feel sorry for them both.

Saw really messed up everything, not only did his own mission fail but he completely messed up the Bad Batch’s mission which caused Tech to die. There’s definitely a reason why Steela was chosen as the leader of the Onderon rebels during the clone wars. Because she was the more tactical and compassionate leader while her brother was reckless, and hateful even more so after she died which made him do stupid things like what we just saw and later during Rebels when he was with Ezra and Sabine he caused a giant Kyber Crystal to explode with Ezra and Sabine still on board which it was going to be used as part of the power source for the laser on the Death Star. One of the only good things that Saw ever did was keep Jyn alive after her mom was killed and her father captured until he was like “your on your own now kid”

I'm still not convinced that Tech is dead. Hemlock only recovering the goggles is just proof that they didn't find a body and presumed he must be dead, which is exactly what the Bad Batch did. Granted, it seems highly likely that Tech died, but you can never be sure unless you see a body, which we did not. I have no idea how he could have survived, but maybe he could have angled his descent to aim at a river or body of water or something? There was all that fog, but if anyone could remember where such a body of water was from memorizing terrain features on maps or scans, it's Tech. I can't say that I believe that he's alive, but I'm definitely not convinced that he's dead.

I was thinking the same thing. No body, not dead. And producing just the Goggles is a bit too convenient.

It’s okay to not be okay. Story wise, all that went down is really good writing- very compelling. I “blame” Saw for Tech’s demise, but what we’ve been seeing since Clone Wars, Rebels, Andor and ultimately in Rogue One, his decent down the Dark Side since losing his sister.

Saw was created by George Lucas to represent the trap of fanaticism. Evil in the name of the greater good is just evil. Filoni and Lucas have both discussed his importance to the universe.

Rebels is definitely not just for kids: it’s the most emotional/ moving Star Wars content going in my opinion. Fingers crossed Tech is still alive, but I can’t see how he would have survived the fall. It’s going to be a while before we find out!🥺

I think Cid was always going to be regretful and feel guilt for turning them in, but I think when she learned about what happened to Tech the guilt was just magnified tenfold. I also feel it's no coincidence that Cid's betrayal happened on the week of Easter, literally two days before Good Friday
