@@therenegadej5764 I mean in terms of getting National recognition like other acts from their time, Zeppelin, stones, Floyd, eagles, allman brothers, etc. the band’s name is never up there with those guys. I don’t think they’re underrated just looked over by lots of people, that’s all. They didn’t have many “radio friendly hits”, they very much strayed away from what many other artists of their time were doing. When everyone was going loud, experimental, and psychedelic the band went back to their roots and played pretty much the opposite of what music had gotten to in the late 60s

Eric Clapton introducing the Band (mk2), not actually playing with them. Misleading headline, Kommie- tut tut. 'Bobfest' is out on BluRay, although it's different angles/edit shot in hi-res by a Japanese video crew, IIRC. Makes for a nice upgrade from the picture quality you see here, if you like this sort of thing.

Oh, the streets of Rome are filled with rubble Ancient footprints are everywhere. You could almost think that you're seeing double On the cold, dark night on the Spanish Stairs. Gotta hurry on back to my hotel room Where I got me a date with a pretty little girl from Greece. She promised she'd be there with me When I paint my masterpiece. Oh, the hours we spent, inside the Coliseum. Dodging lions, and a-wasting time Oh those mighty kings of the jungle, I could hardly stand to see 'em Yes it sure has been a long, hard drive. Train wheels a-running thru the back of my memory When I ran on a hilltop following a pack of wild geese Someday everything is gonna sound like a rhapsody When I paint my masterpiece. Sailing round the world in a dirty gondola Oh to be back in the land of, Coca-cola. Well I left Rome, and landed in Brussels On a plane ride so bumpy that I almost cried Clergy men in uniform, and young girls pulling mussels Everyone was there to greet me when I stepped inside Newspaper men eating candy Had to be held down by big police. Someday, everything's gonna be different When I paint my masterpiece.

The reality is that almost all of these musicians were such fractured human beings. At the time when I was young I loved and enjoyed there music, as the years passed and the musicians started to die off and the discusting mess they left changed everything I ever thought about their so called talent. Drug addicts alcoholics pedofiles also weak frail ass humans. If you can look past all of that and still get off on the music well I'd say you have some of thoses issues under the skin. Levon died hating robbie fucking hating his brother in arms becuse robbie was a scoundrel and levon was not. You can try to tell me these guys were giants but the truth is they were some of the smallest men that ever lived.
