The Bangles and Gogos suffered a bit bc they came of age during the MTV era and saw the cutesy videos for the hit songs and assumed they were fluff. Not fair at all, having seen both groups in concert, I saw the Gogo's at NYU before they hit it big, and they are talented, hard driving rock musicians from one end to the other., Both bands. These ladies still rock. I wish that the Bangles and the Go-Go's would get their recognition for being the first all girl bands of the 80's; multi-talented musicians with great solo and backup harmonies. They proved that women could rock the charts with the Big Boys. They were accomplished with a couple #1's and a couple #2's and enough other charting songs that would make other bands jealous.

So original and simple. They just have their amps on stage with mikes in front. No big marshal stacks or special extreme effects. just 3 vocal mikes, 3 guitar amps with mikes, a simple 5 piece drum kit. Are they even using 16 channels? Amazing how they are still playing as if they are in the neighborhood garage. This is such a great performance by these ladies.

It really IS...they are smokin (performance-wise, and vocally) playing the songs that they WANT to...that they (mostly) wrote... They have always been incredible vocalists and, especially when they are doing harmonies...and, Vicki is a fantastic guitarist...always has been. Debbie is a talented guitarist too...and she's got a great feel/style to her drumming...which the moron/chauvinist?/misguided producers later on at Columbia gradually eliminated from a great deal of their recordings (many of far inferior quality IMO). It's a testament to their love of their own songs and, the ability to make a racket and have crazy fun doing it...and, having Annette back is a great treat! I wish that the video/sound people would have added a bit of volume to the FOH sound to really represent how great they are playing. It sounds like a vacuum between songs and, in some areas where Vicki especially, is playing some very tasty nuanced counterpoint melodies and, distorted/feedback (Dover Beach - an AMAZING deep cut is particularly impacted by this) I don't wanna seem like I'm not LOVING this...it's more like I am loving it and, through my own musical journeys I can see/hear some stuff that others may not...just like they can hear and see things that I can't. The main thing is that it's wonderful to see these 4 awesome women have a chance to play with one another and have a blast while KINDA taking it back to the garage at Dave Naz's house Cheers

I've always thought Vikki is the quintessential British rock girl, watch her dance on the Elvis Costello gig, she's in a mini skirt and boots, too cool. She also writes my fave Bangles songs, Angels, Crash and Burn (both of which they never perform), Different Light, All About You, etc. I miss her singing those songs. The rich layered of "as close to the Beatles as your ever going to get" has always astonished me. It was untouchable when Michael was in the band. Still love them. Debbie is an incredible harmonist, and became a very fine drummer. The should be worshipped in the U.S. but of course we always get it wrong. Thank you girls. Brilliant

Not only is Debbi a solid drummer, Vicki was playing lead guitar during her lead vocals of "Want You". And if you listen carefully, Susanna is a very solid rhythm guitarist, and this isn't the first time I've noticed it. Annette is also doing great on that bass line. She may not be Michael Steele, but she ain't too shabby herself. And this stripped down, "garage band" arrangement sounds fantastic. You can hear the deeper sound of the humbucker pickups of Vicki's Gibson. And the jangly sound of Susanna's "Rick" also stands out. And the percussion is very clear. It all allows you to appreciate the Bangles as musicians and instrumentalists, not just singers. And they're also kinda cute, especially Susanna.

All these years and Susanna's voice can still bring me to tears. I could see they were working through technical difficulties with the sound system and of course Michael was missing and a key board wasn't there either, but the girls were real pros, and soldiered on through the entire performance. Susanna is still as beautiful as ever, with that wonderfully unique voice to match. Great to hear all the harmonies on point as well. Probably the greatest female pop band of all time. I'm a jazz/funk/big band drummer, so that's where my heart lies. However, when ever I hear a Bangles tune, I have to stop whatever I'm doing and pause to drink in all of the magic that is the Bangles. Thanks for the Concert and all the memories. Didn't detect any technical issues with the audio. There are some spots between songs where the mics do cut out, but that is by design as the "gates" close them when there is insufficient sound pressure. That keeps them from bleeding and otherwise potentially ruining the mix.

@@scottholtzman3316 A lot of mixers gate the vocals. This guy is one of them. Listen to the audience applause fade out after each song ends, then suddenly it's back when she starts speaking to the audience. Use ear buds and you'll detect it. Just an amazing story on Annette, who is the Bangles original bass player. After Suzanne called up an ad Vicki's sister had placed for a musician, she got Vicki on the phone instead. The three (Vicki and her sister Debbi) of them got together at Sue's garage and new that first moment they wanted to be in a band. Susanna put an ad in the paper and Annette answered. Suzie said we need a bass player. Can you do it? Annette said yeah. Never having picked up a bass in her entire life, she went out and bought one. She taught herself how to play. She joins the Bangles in Susanna's garage and the Bangs were born. After they made their first EP together, they had to change their name to the Bangles. There was already another band named the Bangs who could collect. After touring for two years and working on the first full album, Annette left to join her boyfriend's band. She was the lead singer and has an amazing Country voice. As we all know, Michael came in and replaced her. The Bangles went on to huge success. Michael decides to retire from playing music in 2007. After going through multiple bass players and it not working out, the Bangles release, "Ladies and Gentlemen the Bangles". A collection of their early stuff with Annette. In 2014 on a show you can find on youtube at Whisky a Go Go, they invite Annette to come back and play harmonica on a song they did. It was AMAZING. The smiles and chemistry, everyone was blown away. Even the crowd reaction afterwards. 31 years after she left, it was like Annette had never even gone anywhere. The smiles were big on all the faces of the Bangles. The next year she started doing a bunch of shows with the Bangles and since 2017, she's been the everyday bass player. That includes the new Paisley Underground record they recorded. To say these ladies have come full circle, is an understatement. Look up Annette Bangles 2014 to her the performance.

Here they are playing together again, almost 40 years after they first met up on a California night. That can't be said for a lot of bands. Much less one with four women. Thanks for the great music Susanna, Vicki, Debbi, and Annette. These ladies could be doing anything else they want to be, but are instead still playing great music! Ladies and Gentlemen, the Original Bangs! Er, Bangles for legal reasons. Any doubt about their ability to play, or whether time has diminished their abilities, should be put to rest. Nice to see Susanna, Vicki, Debbi and Annette on the other side of fame and all the stuff that came with it. A nod, of course, to Michael's contributions over the years. And yes, that's the John Cowsill (of the Cowsills, occasionally with the Beach Boys), who married Vicki. Pretty fair drummer himself.

The Bangles en concierto!!! unos de mis grupos favoritos de los 80s. Hoy le enseño a mi hija de 8 años las letras de sus canciones, para que algún día me las cante. Muchas gracias por el estupendo video.

I love both KZitem's of this concert. They look and sound Amazing! And for certain they would sound a whole lot better if not coming across the WWweb, my HP notebook computer and cheap bluetooth headphones held together with packing tape. They inspire me to do some upgrades of my sound equipment. Although there's not much I can do about the quality of the KZitem's nor the same of the web. I'm just now, at 59, a BIG fan, on my way to HUGE Fan, of The Bangles. What got my enthusiasm and adrenaline going, somewhat, is finding out that they are NOT in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. I'm going to have to research that. Even without being a Bangle Expert, I feel there's a mysterious problem there. I think we need to start a campaign to get them in there. They are just as deserving, and even moreso, as others that have that honor. Everybody who is Anybody in and out of the Music Industry recognized their Greatness including but not limited to Paul McCartney himself! Just go take a look at their Wikipedia article, and while there check out some of the references. They're AMAZING! I never realized how HUGE they really were. I believe Social Media needs to get in on this and involved with getting them in there. We'll see.

Still good, simply was impressed by their simplicity in the 80ies, when I had chance to Smalltalk with Susanne Hoffs after the gig at Rock am Ring, in the RTL-Studio. Should have asked her out...she and the others look awesome.

No, they are vampires, so they don't age! Really it's amazing how young they are.
