Your brain is always subconsciously finding patterns, shapes and meaning to everything you look at to try to make sense of the world. This is the basic foundation of Gestalt theory, which stems from Gestalt psychology, a theory of thought that originated in Germany in the early 20th century. We will review some of the laws associated with Gestalt psychology and talk about how it relates to design. When we understand how the human brain processes and categorizes a series of elements, we can use that understanding to help us craft easy to digest visual messages. Gestalt theory is really just trying to explain how we visualize and organize information. Organizing this information is the very core of what we do as graphic designers. 🔥Join my FREE design newsletter! lindsaymarsh.substack.com 🔥My full Graphic Design Courses (Best selling design courses in the world right now! 300,000 students and counting) lindsaymarsh.myportfolio.com 🔥All of my classes are also on Skillshare! This video is so good and informative. Pls Lindsey, i want to ask, can i use more than one text alignment on a design. E.g can i use both centered and edge alignment together in just one design??
@LindsayMarsh
Жыл бұрын
Yes you can! As long as there is distance and space between when you use center and when you use a different alignment so they are not associated with each other. Example of this would be a flyer that has center alignment in the center/top but across the bottom are two blocks of info one aligned left and the other aligned right. Study editorial layouts and you can see there is a wide variety of combinations with alignments. It is good to keep one block of information as one alignment though.
